Which makes Biden either creepy in going ahead anyway, or oblivious that he had no idea how it was coming across. Neither is a particularly good look for him.

Personally I suspect it's a generational thing. He's 76. He may be genuinely clueless about touching people. But he's certainly had enough time to learn not to, especially in a field like politics. Surely someone around him has told him to knock it off but he just won't learn. Another example of why we need younger candidates more in touch with the times.

Not in evidence. And honestly, I find it unlikely until now. Things have changed. Navigating the waters of the sexes and what is and isn't appropriate is challenging for the men and the women. And Biden is an older man and a lot of people are not comfortable broaching a subject like that to anyone let alone someone in power. I remember watching sexual harassment training seminars at several companies I worked at and none of the higher ups ever seemed to attend.

That's the weakest excuse there is - I shredded a bloke a couple of weeks ago for saying exactly that. He was 69 and came out with the "Things weren't like that in my day..." He was doing a lesser version of Creepy Joe's antics - putting his hand on a young woman's shoulder, not quite nuzzling up to her neck...

I told him very explicitly that unless he's been living under a rock all this century he could not fail to be aware that those things are no longer tolerated. They haven't been for decades and being out of date is no excuse.

I see as total dishonesty and low-class cop-out. It's the most gutless answer, because it shows that these people have no understanding of entitlement or decency.

Yeah, but he's a politician who has run for the presidency before. He's got to have at least one consultant for youth outreach or whatever the heck they'd call it, who would have pointed out "by the way, you come across as a creepy old man when you smell women's hair."

Did you not read my entire post? I wasn't excusing him.

I'm not sure I buy that. It's been 10 years since Joe really ran for a competitive political office and that incident happened 5 years ago. BTW, I'm not counting VP which people barely pay attention. And Biden has been touchy-feely for decades. I don't remember a soul ever bringing this up before the last year.

Al Franken got railroaded out of the Senate for less. But somehow this guy is still in the running. What's up with this guy? More like, what's up with progressives in general?

You've gotta expect Joe to be a little rough around the edges. After all, he was the first in his family in 1000 generations to go to college; his ancestors were all coal miners.

Mayor Pete (everybody calls him that because his last name is Buttigieg) gives an interview to Esquire.

So, would he want to be called President Pete? I’ve seen his name and am not acquainted with John Feces about the guy and have been pronouncing it with my lip reading as “Butty-gig” but searching it tonight, according to the Daily Dot, he supposedly has a sign that says “pronounced boot-edge-edge”.

I think he has a built in handicap there for election.

No one is as intolerant as the tolerant, sometimes. You would've punched out my Aunt Rose. She's one of those "stinks of violet candy and violet dusting powder who comes in for a little too big of a hug and creeps you out" sorts.

There is something to be said for generational differences. I agree that it's their fault if they still hide behind them and refuse to acquiesce to modern social norms, but it doesn't make me crazy. Some people just don't change.

The reasons not to vote for Biden:
>He's old. He's old guard establishment Democratic Party.
>He's a proven plagiarist.
>His appeal is Anti-Trump and he's the great white hope in the rust belt and that ignores the changing demographics of the US.
>He's been running for president for thirty ******* years!

The creepy uncle thing doesn't bother me so much. I know too many people like him, some female even! I was equally not terribly upset with Bush Senior grabbing butts other than the joyful hypocrisy of the pearl-clutchers who didn't give a rat's ass about the old guy doing the same thing that Franken was being tarred and feathered for.

I wasn't disagreeing with you, just expanding on my thoughts on the subject.

Why didn’t you call the police?

That's easy - the girl in question had the opportunity to call the police or take a payment of tax-free hush money from their employer.

She took the twelve grand. I took two & a half. Everyone happy.

I'm like Jerry Seinfeld when it comes to hugs.

I hug my wife & kids, and the mother-in-law and that's it. Anyone else looking for a hug is likely to get a good old rugby fend, regardless of gender.

I have no idea when the invasion of personal space became a thing - I'm not that much younger than Joe and I was always taught to respect other people's space.

You forgot quite a number of things from his time in Senate. I think it'd be much easier to compile a list of negative things about Joe than positive, of which my list currently has one. A big one, though:

>He's not Trump.

... or to make utterly asinine comparisons and claims of sexual assault such as TA has done.

I'm sick of that nonsense.

I've asked others, and after that comment, I reckon it's fair that you put your freedom where your keyboard is dribbling and prove your point.

Here it is - it's only a few posts up:

Me said:

You go down to the nearest mall today, find a little girl and do this to her:

creepyjoebiden.JPG

When you get up off the floor from the dad having punched you in the face a few times, see if there are any cops coming to arrest you and let me know how you get on.

You reckon it's not assault - be my guest and prove it. Alternatively, just retract your statement.

Here's another:

A Connecticut woman says Joe Biden touched her inappropriately and rubbed noses with her during a 2009 political fundraiser in Greenwich when he was vice president, drawing further scrutiny to the Democrat and his history of unwanted contact with women as he ponders a presidential run

"It wasn't sexual, but he did grab me by the head," Amy Lappos told The Courant Monday. "He put his hand around my neck and pulled me in to rub noses with me. When he was pulling me in, I thought he was going to kiss me on the mouth."

It wasn't the right that tarred and feathered Franken and rode him out of the Senate on a rail.

Meanwhile a bunch of the candidates appeared at a rally entitled 'We the People Summit' where an NAACP loon led the crowd in a chant originally written by convicted cop-killer Assata Shakur:

The #Resistance continues to quote Shakur’s words, and did so today on the stage at the event where most of the declared 2020 Democrat candidates are speaking, including Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey (where the State Trooper was murdered), former HUD Secretary Julián Castro, Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT), Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Governor Jay Inslee (D-WA), and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).

If you watch the video the speaker from the NAACP makes it clear who wrote the words. The chant:

“It is our duty to fight for our freedom.
It is our duty to win.
We must love each other and support each other.
We have nothing to lose but our chains.”

The last line is obviously borrowed from Comrade Karl.

I misread that as meaning "not Trump" was a negative. Phew, glad I figured it out.
I've seen stuff of this sort about Biden for some time now. I'm of his and Trump's generation and was certainly not raised to behave like they do. But my biggest objection to Joe is he's too damn old.

I don't really like ANY of the candidates all that much so far. Can we just repeal the 22nd and have Obama?

No, but maybe if a million or so of you beg his wife to run and she agrees, you're home.

She would beat Trump and any of the current weak crop of Democrats by the length of the front straight at Indianapolis Speedway. Class, style, brains, empathy - she has everything Trump wishes he had.

Michelle for 2020!

(I have said this before, and I know she's tipped water on it, but ask her to think of her grandchildren's country.)
