But seriously. He's going to close the border with Mexico, then destabilise the countries to the south by removing aid and assistance. Plus Puerto Rico gets cut off from aid again. (1) Guess who doesn't like Latinos and other brown people. (2) Will this "pressure cooker" make him popular with his own border force? I think not. But that seems to be what he is trying to do.

Exactly. And if you have any doubt, look at the separating kids from their parents, refusing to support adding more immigration judges, stopping the release of people to family members while they are waiting for court dates, forcing immigrants to cross at border crossings then not let them in...

All of that is cruel Trump seriously harming people so Trump can feel good and pretend to be a big shot handling a crisis.

I honestly thought that Trump would be his own worst enemy as far as the (sort of) exoneration goes. He was bound to do something that would bury the one piece of good news he's had recently and this certainly seems like a candidate:

Russia's response is pretty funny, in a dark way.

We do not think that third countries should be concerned about our bilateral relations with some states. We are not interfering in the internal affairs of Venezuela in any way... we hope that third countries will follow our example and let Venezuelans decide their own fate.

He is snapping the leash rather snappishly.

Trump is going to roll over. He'll reverse "his people" again and undo any moves his administration has made. Maybe his subservience will tick off Bolton or a few senators, but not enough to really matter.
