The Trump Presidency 13: The (James) Baker's Dozen

From an article in the Washington Post:

Federal judges have ruled against the Trump administration at least 63 times over the past two years, an extraordinary record of legal defeat that has stymied large parts of the president’s agenda on the environment, immigration and other matters.

In case after case, judges have rebuked Trump officials for failing to follow the most basic rules of governance, including providing legitimate explanations for shifts in policy, supported by facts and, where required, public input.

...........

Two-thirds of the cases accuse the Trump administration of violating the Administrative Procedure Act (APA), a 73-year-old law that forms the primary bulwark against arbitrary rule. The normal “win rate” for the government in such cases is about 70 percent, according to analysts and studies. But as of mid-January, a database maintained by the Institute for Policy Integrity at the New York University School of Law shows Trump’s win rate at about 6 percent.

I know it's obvious but this is quantitative data that demonstrates that Dump has no interest in actual governance. I'd argue that extends to the whole of the GOP but that might be stretching the data a bit far.

I'm posting this here because it doesn't fit anywhere else and it's definitely about the orange one.

Some wag in Aussie has named his racing greyhound Covfefe. I noticed it today and took a screenshot of its details that I found amusing, especially the top right in the dark blue area, which also describes the current President of the United States of America.

Facebook, Google and Twitter, not to mention the Corrupt Media, are sooo on the side of the Radical Left Democrats. But fear not, we will win anyway, just like we did before! #MAGA

... says he on Twitter. :D

He's about as self-aware as the Occupy Whatever twits recording their edgy anti-corporate messages on iPhones and posting them on Facebook using an AT&T connection.

Trump would have been banned years ago if it wasn't for his side gig as President.

Campaigning for the Popular Vote is much easier & different than campaigning for the Electoral College. It’s like training for the 100 yard dash vs. a marathon. The brilliance of the Electoral College is that you must go to many States to win. With the Popular Vote, you go to....

....just the large States - the Cities would end up running the Country. Smaller States & the entire Midwest would end up losing all power - & we can’t let that happen. I used to like the idea of the Popular Vote, but now realize the Electoral College is far better for the U.S.A.

The Democrats are getting very “strange.” They now want to change the voting age to 16, abolish the Electoral College, and Increase significantly the number of Supreme Court Justices. Actually, you’ve got to win it at the Ballot Box!

Woah. Wait. Did we almost miss this?

I used to like the idea of the Popular Vote, but now realize the Electoral College is far better for the U.S.A.

Did Trump actually admit to changing his mind?

Yes, our system where like a half dozen swing states get all the attention while the rest of the country is totally ignored makes much more sense.

Well, Donnie, the problem is, what we learned in 2016 is that they have really bad judgement. Other than make them feel good about their prejudices, you haven't done anything for them, either.
