I see a parallel in the "incident" interviews between Smollett, R Kelly and Trump. All indignantly try to insert some "logical" questions, as if the answers to those prove that it actually happened (or didn't).

No no no. That can't be legit.Excellent observation. I was taught in interrogation/counter-interrogation class that this is a sign of a false story. The liar will repeatedly tell you why the accusation makes no sense, rather than simply denying it.
The innocent person will simply say that they didn't do it: "I don't know what happened, but I DIDN'T DO IT!"
and although this really has nothing to do with the evidence at hand, I think it's interesting that the people howling that this is a "fake crime" are the usual suspects.
Same folks that thought it was okay to shoot Trayvon Martin for walking home.
Let's be honest, and say that they just hate people who aren't white. And then ignore them from there on out.

Vanity Fair said:On Wednesday, a local CBS affiliate reported that dozens of employees at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where Smollett was treated following his attack, had been fired for allegedly accessing Smollett’s medical records. In a report from the same affiliate Thursday, sources estimated that the hospital had fired upwards of 60 employees, and perhaps more, in connection with the Smollett case. (Northwestern Memorial declined to comment due to personnel and HIPAA constraints.) And on Friday, news broke that Chicago police have launched an internal probe of their own to find out who was responsible for leaking details about their investigation last month.
Multiple Northwestern Memorial employees, many of whom work as medical assistants or in an administrative capacity, claim that they never accessed Smollett’s records, and that they were fired without being asked any questions or given the opportunity to speak on their own behalf, “even in cases where Smollett’s name only appeared on their computer screens,” CBS reports. “I think because he’s famous, he’s a known celebrity, that’s why they made a big deal out of it,” one of the fired employees told the affiliate. The ex-staffers believe the hospital’s human-resources department went too far. As one former customer-service specialist put it, “It hurts after being there for 20 years.” The specialist added that she actually was authorized to enter Smollett’s chart in order to complete and release it...
CBS Chicago said:Jussie Smollett is now facing deeper legal troubles after a grand jury returned 16 federal counts against the actor for allegedly staging a hate crime attack in January.
Last month, Smollett was charged with a disorderly conduct charge for allegedly staging a racist and homophobic attack last month in Streeterville...
ABC 7 Chicago said:A Cook County grand jury has returned a 16-count indictment against "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett, according to court records. The Cook county State's Attorney's Office confirmed the indictment, which they said was returned by a grand jury on Thursday.
Smollett was originally charged with one felony count of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office on Feb. 20. Now the grand jury has returned 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report...
...The grand jury returned two separate sets of charges. The first set are related to what Smollett told officers about the alleged attack, including that the attackers called him racial and homophobic slurs, struck him with his their hands, put a noose around his neck, and poured some sort of chemical substance on him.
The second set of charges are related to the second interview Smollett had with police about the alleged attack later that day. The new set of charges each carry a possible sentence of probation to four years. Smollett already pleaded not guilty to the first disorderly conduct charge. He was taken into custody and posted $100,000 bond to be freed.
Experts believe it is likely he will strike a plea deal and potentially not spend time in prison...

I never thought that anything other than the fake powder letter would be very much punishing.Ugh. He should serve the sentences that would have been handed down to his two attackers.
16 felonies? Seems excessive.
In fact, it seems like a horrifying attack on Jussie Smollett.

This news is now national across all media. Everyone is saying 16 counts.I think it's more likely to be reporters not reporting accurately.
