Don't we have any other Medal of Honor winners? Real heros not racist Hollywood actors who the airport could be named after?

Yeah, OHare is recognized for something he did. Similarly, Dulles and Degaul. Even Reagan was a President.

Hell, you could even say Bob Hope (Burbank) could be recognized for his USO work.

What did John Wayne do to get an airport named after him?

Neither did I. I'm always in a hurry when I'm there because traffic sucks and their hours of operation due to noise abetment suck. I never noticed the statue.

That said, Wayne wasn't much of an actor. He just played one character and it was a character people liked. There are much more deserving people to honor who advanced the art and science of film-making.

You would prefer "Captain Zig-Zag Field"? How about "Where Timothy Leary comes down." ?

"Superman" would probably be more acceptable to the Liberals here, he is fantasy, , but I can't think of a resident of O.C. that stands for "Truth, Justice, and the American way" more than The Duke.

I am sure John Wayne knew that they got what was coming to them for this, and so america would support such things. Trying to get the poorly behaved blacks in need of civilizing to actually vote? That would destroy our democracy.

Just like Robert E Lee knew that freeing the blacks before slavery properly civilized them would end badly.
