The Trump Presidency 13: The (James) Baker's Dozen

I think this comment is unfair, or perhaps you've misunderstood Timhau.
I've never seen anything to suggest s/he is a 'trumpkin', and the way I understood the comment was as an indictment of trump's last summit with Kim having given concessions (wargames suspension) while receiving nothing in return.

You need to really squint your mind to see this as trump-spin or the words of an apologist.
I suppose the comment can be parsed different ways and I read it differently:
Yeah, I was wondering what's going on. I expected Trump to screw things up in a major way again. Apart from a few typically moronic statements, he came out with nothing, which beat my expectations. There's my Trump-spin.

And my memory of who some of the Trumpers are on the board is occasionally mistaken. My apologies.

Traunch is a related term of tranche.
As nouns the difference between traunch and tranche is that traunch is one of a series of allotments (of funds for a certain purpose) while tranche is a slice, section or portion. As a verb traunch is to divide into parts or portions of a series (especially of allotments of funds).
As a adjective traunch is divided into portions or parts of a series (especially of allotments of funds). Link

I admit I didn't know that. Not sure it really fits but at least it is a word. ;)

Not problem. And it does seem like Trump's statements were more moronic than I initially thought. He called Kim a 'great leader'. The idiot went into two summits with N. Korea without knowing what that phrase means over there. :boggled:

A present for our resident Trumpistas. Drink up, the end is nigh!

What's a "traunch?" Something to do with covfefe?

I have a pretty good vocabulary ("I know the best words"...) but I have to admit I did not know that was an actual word.

It's sad that the default position is that The PDJT is always going to make a typo first (or lie), rather than be correct.

Very proud of perhaps the greatest golf course anywhere in the world. Also, furthers U.K. relationship!

The words of the president of the United States. Even Michael Cohen admits Trump degrades the office.

I watched "Night at the Garden" last night. It is very reminiscent of what we see at Trump rallies.

The tweet is from the guy who designed the course.

Wonder if Trump tweeted this because he just was ordered to pay the Scottish government's legal fees regarding wind turbines visible from his course.

:eye-poppi

Complete totalitarian leader might not know about an American hostage/prisoner who'd been in a coma for a year?

Seriously?

There have been a series of posts here criticising Trump over failing to criticise the alleged torture of a US citizen. The medical report published at the time said there was no evidence of injuries from torture. The hypoxic brain injury is a common consequence of a wide range of medical events such as prolonged seizures, attempted suicide, sepsis, carbon monoxide poisoning.

I also feel there is a certain amount of hypocrisy. Why would Trump complain about torture when he is an advocate of torture? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...ys-us-president-in-first-television-interview
Trump is the president of a country that has tortured people to death. As President he has authorised targeted assassinations around the world resulting in the deaths of many innocent people. The Us has kidnapped foreign citizens off the streets of foreign countries and either tortured them itself or 'rendered' them to countries such as Syria to torture them on their behalf. Trump has promoted to head of the CIA an agent closely associated with the CIA torture program.

How many children have died in US detention camps as 'illegal' aliens? What about those prisoners who have been denied water and died of dehydration in US prisons? Should every visiting head of state to the US blame Trump for events in the US prison and detention system? For torture by US agents and deaths of many innocent women and children as collateral damage? The words mote and beam come to mind.

It's hard to see any other reason. The idea that it's some sort of a triumph to build a good golf-course in Scotland is bizarre. :boggled:
