In case you haven't noticed this thread has a number of simultaneous parallel discussions going. It was not at all obvious to me who you were talking about because I WASN'T FOLLOWING THAT DISCUSSION.

The quote feature allows users to follow back individual discussion trains within a thread, please use it - it won't hurt you, it doesn't disadvantage you in any way, it only takes one click of the mouse (which you have to make anyway when you click reply) it makes discussions much easier to follow.

This is a part that really disturbs me about this whole affair. This is a very unusual, almost unheard of step.

I can see the distinct possibility of a private conversation having taken place between Acosta and Epstein in which Epstein bargains for a very light sentence on the basis that he can name names.

I'll bet there are some potential co-conspirators out there who are fairly crapping themselves in fear of this whole deal being overturned.

This stinks to high heaven. I remember reading about this before, but how can they grant immunity to any "potential co-conspirators"? That seems way over the top and beyond anyone's authority.

The desperation of the Trump cult is pathetic. They've bankrupted many farms with tariffs, and lost so much money doing so that making back $30B/yr means little. "I've taken all of your savings, but here is a dollar back...."

There's no doubt about that last line, and that history will be exactly what he calls "fake news," not what he's done for black people or anyone else.

Ehh. It's more like, "If this works, business will come back, though it will still be significantly worse than before I f'ed it all up!" Trade War! Easy to win! What was winning supposed to actually mean, again? More equal imports versus exports?

Among somewhat random other things... Looks like the NRA decided to match the words "Target Practice" with a picture of Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats. Like we needed more proof of how they're bullhorning to potential right-wing terrorists.

Also... according to McCabe, Trump Wanted War with Venezuela Because "they have all that oil and they’re right on our back door."

The guy says that in a meeting about Russian spies and the Republicans in Congress continue to pretend that this guy is normal, competent, and not at all in need of psychiatric testing. WTF?

ETA: I don’t understand how geography works once one steps through the looking glass, where exactly is America’s front door?

Yeah, the guy who had to settle with the government over a racial discrimination case to avoid a conviction is going to give a medal to a black guy.

Ewww. I just had a creepy thought, if President Trump had to deliver the speech given by the fictional president played by Bill Pullman, what would it sound like.
