horrifying attack on Jussie Smollett

I do wonder about Smollett's future. No one will ever hire him again. He is an embarrassment to his family and friends. The late-night comedians will even tire of him. It seems he either works on redemption and tries to win back respect - unlikely, or lives as a poor drug addict until he dies or OD's, or commits suicide. I hope I'm wrong.

Given the lengths he's been willing to go to so far, I'm half expecting a deliberately botched suicide attempt, in a flailing effort to regain some shred of sympathy one more time. :rolleyes:

TMZ reporting that the brothers say the $3500 was not for the attack, but for training...

If accurate, it is probably semantics and the brothers trying to avoid any legal troubles.

Also reporting that the brothers say they had no connection to the letter.

Which could also be trying to avoid legal trouble.

A hip hop artist isn't getting the recognition and fame he feels he deserves in a highly competitive industry. He tries the letter trick and it pans out just like it did in real life so he decides to up the game, you all know the rest of the story.

The feds nail Jussie's character on the white powder charge and the last scene in the season ending episode has Jussie's character being transported in a prison van with a black hood on and chained up like Hannibal Lecter.

The van stops, the hood is removed and the first thing Jussie's character sees is a sign.

Welcome to Guantanamo Bay.

Fade to black with the sound of a cell door slamming shut.

I'd go with something like this:

Jussie's character (Jamal Lyon? don't know, never watched the show but that's imdb says, so going with it) is actually Hectic Yank, supervillain, white supremacist and arch enemy of the Lyon Family. Sworn to destroy their empire, Yank has kidnapped Jamal while he vacationed in Miami and has been holding him captive, forcing him to witness their empire go up in a massive dumpster fire before finally executing him. Yank travels to Chicago and leaves Jamal guarded by his minions as he begins to put his plan in play.

Yank's plan, a double-double cross, is initiated by having himself surgically altered into an identical copy of Jamal, who would then infiltrate the Lyon Family and blend right in. Once he feels the family has been fooled, Yank will launch his masterpiece; A plan so incredibly ******* stupid, it'll be sniffed out immediately, even by the dimmest of internet sleuths.

The plan called for the highly unlikely chance of encountering two racist MAGA crackers in the dead of night in the middle of a 60 below polar vortex at an upscale Chicago neighborhood, just because Jamal thought it would be a good idea to go out alone on a sandwich run at 2 in the ******* AM, even after receiving death threats in the mail (See last week's episode). The crackers would immediately recognize Jamal and beat him slightly while the crackers shout racist slogans, tie a rope around his neck and dump Clorox on his clothes. Jamal will then fend off the crackers heroically and report the incident to the Chicago Police Department.

Once this weapons grade bull **** hits social media, it causes a rapidly growing rift between those who really, really truly believe Jamal and aren't just virtue signaling and those who rightly think he's full of **** and, of course, trolls gleefully operating on all sides of the issue. Racial tensions will then rise because, as its widely known, if you'd even dare question the validity of Jamal's story, then you must be a lily white racist and you deserve a beating of your own. Deal with it.

Everyone one is falling in line, just as Yank planned they would. Even the CPD is duped as they quickly discover who the MAGA crackers really are; Two african - american bodybuilders of Jamal's acquaintance, who he paid to pull off the attack. As information begins leaking from CPD sources, the seeds of doubt are planted as it starts to look like Jamal made the whole thing up. Mass confusion ensues as both sides try to step back and evaluate what has happened. The trolls will have none of that, of course. They ramp it up.

Meanwhile back in Miami, the real Jamal has managed to escape from Yank's minions and is making his way back to Chicago. The minions are unable to notify Yank of this development because any communication with base may compromise this stage of of the plan, the minions are on strict radio silence.

By now two weeks have passed and Jamal has become increasingly uncooperative and evasive as each day passes and rumors of his eventual arrest circulate. The Lyon family is now in turmoil - they love and support Jamal for the most part but there are those who now openly believe Jamal is lying through his teeth and want to know just what the hell is going on.

The family is being torn to shreds by trolls on social media, their fan base is turning on them and race relations in the USA are headed back to the 1950's. The goal of Yank's plan is now in sight and obtainable. Matriarch of the Lyon Family, Cookie has one last try at talking some sense into Jamal, setting up the season finale scenes and Jussie's write-off:

Cookie: "Son, you've got to tell me right. Now. This is it. Our business is collapsing. The police are coming for you. And you still act like you didn't do anything wrong. You're going to prison! What is wrong with you?! Out with it!"

Jamal: [hysterically sobbing] "Mother!! you can't be serious! I did not do this!! I'm innocent! The racist cops are setting me up!! I..."

Camera quick cuts and focuses on the window behind Jamal. A shadowy figure of a man rushes headlong toward the glass and launches himself through it. Cookie immediately knocks Jamal to the ground, raises her pistol and fire twice, mortally wounding the intruder, because even black people fire at black people instinctively. She runs over to him, rolls him over and comes face to face with...Jamal. The real Jamal, who is barely clinging to life. Cookie now points her pistol at the fake Jamal.

Cookie: [crying yet stoic] "Don't you move, boy. Who the **** are you?"

Fake Jamal: "Mama! Don't do this, I don't know why this guy is impersonating me but he just tried to kill us! Finish him off!"

Real Jamal: [wheezing] "Hectic... Yaaank...."

Fake Jamal: "Kill Him mom!"

Cookie: [cocks pistol] "Shut your mouth! What did you say boy??"

Real Jamal: [barely able to whisper now] "Hectic Yank...he's Hectic Yank...all this bull ****... he did... to us... to destroy... us... and 'merica....[gurgle]..."

Cookie expertly fires two rounds into each of Fake Jamal's kneecaps, incapacitating him and turns back to real Jamal, who is fading fast.

Cookie: "You need to tell me for real. I know who you are...now tell me baby, tell me who you are, for real."

Real Jamal: [eyes widening and smiles knowingly] I'... I'm... Gay... Tu...Pahhhhhhh...." [and croaks]

Cookie collapses, sobbing over the lifeless body of Jamal while Yank writhes in pain background right. CPD officers are seen arriving as the scene fades out.

Scene fades open in a prison cellblock, camera pans up to a guard escorting a pudgy little white man along a row of cells. Fresh from delousing and surgically restored to his normal appearance, Hectic Yank is heading for his new home for the next 25 years to life.

Guard: "I can't believe you were able to fool all those people like that - gotta say that took some balls."

Yank: "Not really. Once I got his moves down it was just a matter of acting and impersonation. That comes naturally to me."

Guard: "Couldn't have been that easy..."

Yank: "Well, if anything was hard it was playing gay...I'm not gay.

Guard: [Laughs] Yeah, neither are they. Right boys?

As the cellblock erupts in laughter, the guard stops at an open cell door and abruptly shoves Yank through it, slamming the bars shut behind him.

Fade out. Roll credits.

I haven't been able to figure out why TMZ is the only one to report about Smollett admitting a drug addiction during his arrest. All other media are quoting TMZ. There were dozens of reporters there and it was described as a media scrum. It seems possible that this is another TMZ blooper. Not sure.

The active cesspool that is Hollywood along with the general public love to forgive their manufactured heroes no matter how horrible their crimes or actions. Here are just a few that come to mind:
Meryl Streep, Whoopi Goldberg and dozens of others defending child rapist Roman Polanski. Special Oscar and standing ovation from the majority of A-listers in the crowd. Millions watch his movies around the world.
Racist, wife/girlfriend beating, misogynist, gay hating Mel Gibson.
Racist violent Mark Wahlberg who taunted and assaulted some black children and after that arrest - nearly beat a Vietnamese man to death for being Vietnamese.
Lots more but I think you get the picture...;)

Wahlberg was 15 and 17 and in a gang when those two attacks occurred.
However, he was 21 when he fractured his neighbor's jaw for no apparent reason.
