Split Thread Scorpion's Spiritualism

I am sure you are aware astronomers have discovered several local stars have planets. They are even aware of some planets that could possibly support life,
and that is only the stars near us. It seems likely that many stars have planets. There are a billion stars in our galaxy and billions of galaxies with billions of stars in them. It therefore seems quite probable there are countless planets with advanced life on them. There could be no planets until the death of early stars sending out heavy atoms. In fourteen billion years since the big bang there could be planets ten billion years old. They might have developed civilisations far older than ours.

In order to prove your mediums are doing anything other than playing a numbers game, they need to present some verifiable details.
Which specific stars do they claim have, or had, intelligent life?

None of which you can offer any meaningful evidence for. These spirits don't offer you anything meaningful, either. So, at the end of it all, we're left with not much.

When the spirits offer you the lottery numbers for next week, I'll develop some genuine interest in these matters.

Ya had to do it, didn't you. Throw the "lottery" argument into the mix.

It is an argument that you or I or most her grok, but I avoid it like the plague.

Why? because in order to justify why they don't get a lottery hit from the spirits, the deluded will immediately engage in a wild rodeo of a Gish Gallop of insane claims about spirits, and karma and mentors and mediums and ... who the hell knows what. But one can by absolutely certain that whatever it is, it's utter bollocks.

Now I read your post and the thread to the end before replying, but when I hit yours, I went "Oh dear god no" because I knew for a fact what a crapstorm that would trigger.

Sure enough, scroll down the thread and our protagonist is hurling Karma about the place as though it is a real thing.

I am really not sure why, but the "lottery" argument is incredibly like a big monster red button with "explode" written on it and they assume the role of Trump.

Given my experience here and elsewhere on the intertubes with various posters, I know this is a red rag to a certain variety of poster. The claims suddenly become more shrill and extreme.

No good ever comes of it

So there is a long queue of souls waiting to reincarnate here on earth because of the great progress we are making and the bright future we have, but at the same time, there are disasters coming and it'll all be over soon.
Really? How can this possibly make sense?

I did not mention a bright future, just that we are making great progress. Ecological disaster may be coming, and be part of our collective karma.
In the end, all experience is of value to the soul. Dramatic changes like we are going through and disasters we may face in the future, are a great opportunity for spiritual advancement.

It's your guides that claimed there was life on Mars and Venus....

We now have collective karma, so now I've not only not to think of the soldiers raping a 12 year old I'm going to be hit with negative karma anyway.

Your philosophy screws us all over regardless of our actions!

This thread just keeps on giving. It simultaneously amuses and saddens me. Our pal Scorpion is a classic unsinkable rubber duck, and it's fun to imagine him one day reading a post that gets him to start to understand the bollocks he's bought into. But worse for me is the recognition that people literally *sold* him this stuff, and those people are scum.

For my part, I'm sad to see that insanity has been mentioned in this context.

Scorpion: Do you know how sanity hearings work? If you're the guest of honor, that is, if someone wants to have you committed, you may be obliged to prove a negative, to wit, that you are NOT insane.

How would you do that? How would you rebut the contention that you're bat **** nutz? I ask because, if I were arguing that you are, I would do no more than submit the entirety of this thread. Really.

Or might you remain silent (your right, of course) and hope that a JP would recognize the validity of your beliefs? How likely would it be that he'd do that? Be honest, now.

Thorazine is outmoded in these times, btw; really, you have little to fear.

They did not specify any, just that we have and will reincarnate on other planets.

Sol. Specifically Mars and Venus.

Strange, isn't it. that when it comes to information that could conceivably be discovered by ordinary, human means- the colour of a painting, for example- the "spirits" can be quite specific, and yet, when asked about information that supposedly only they could- and should- know, they are either suspiciously vague or flat-out wrong.
Scorpion: I think everyone else reading this can understand why this is. Take your blinkers off, man. You were being conned. It happens to the best of us: just deal with it and move on.

Fortunately for me, people with mental illnesses are currently expected to live in the community. That is to say you are not normally sectioned into hospital.
There was an attempt to section me in around 1990 but the psychiatrist was on my side. He did not perceive me as dangerous either to others or myself.

What I believe is of no account in the medical profession. Psychiatrists I have encountered clearly did not believe a word I said, but they did not consider me dangerous, so I was not sectioned.

"Sectioned" is a grisly-sounding word. Brings up visions of ghastly carving and displaying of still-living body parts!

Brits here can perhaps explain the term and depotentiate it for Americans. Or they can smile sardonically and leave us to our nightmarish scripting.

Be damn, but here's the makings of a good horror flick. Muah hah hah!

This is gold!

Agreed.

Sectioning a Scorpion sounds like something you’d do in a biology lab!

In a dystopia ruled by mad Chrrrristianz,* heretics are callled Skorpians, and are hunted and dissected to find where the spirits they claim to believe in are located, "because everything is really REAL, brethrens!" Our main story follows a remnant band of Skorpians as they bravely penetrate the dungeons beneath GodzTemple, to heal and free the poor prisoners, etc., with attendant 'splosians, gunfights, car chases, usw. Sweaty Singlet Girl can be a renegade Chrrrristian virgin. She's turned out -- excuse me, enlightened by the hero, and we set up for sequels, roll credits.

How'm I doon, Scorp?

* That part's plausible enough, White Eagle knows.

I have been saying the same things, criticising the Quran, and talking up the occult, on the internet since 2001. I usually use the name Dajjal (the Muslim anti Christ)
I am on twitter as Dajjal. @dajjal_dd You will be able to see my face in my avatar there, as my bird is hanging on the side of my glasses frame, not in front of my face. You will also be able to see some of my paintings.

Do you reckon we share the same spirits with these aliens, or do they have different spirits of their own?

lol, tbf, as soon as I posted that, I realized I'd already brought this up before in on a previous life page, as I remembered the karma conversation. On the plus side, I held the door open for someone today, so hopefully I should see a small return from the otherworld.

Scorpion, is there some sort of reference list for what prizes we get for doing certain good deeds? I'm assuming something like holding the door open for someone is at least worth finding a quid on the floor. Hang on, I did find a quid on the floor today! Back of the net!

It is my belief we have, and will again incarnate on other planets. These other inhabited planets have life forms similar to our own, as the upright ape is a standard model of advanced life. Our spirits are all individual and they inhabit the body we choose to incarnate into. We move from planet to planet according to the needs of our souls spiritual evolution. So there are no real aliens. The aliens are us.

This is a view I came to after listening to many spiritualist mediums giving trance lectures at the spiritualist association in London in the 1970's

Silver Birch teaches a life of service to humanity is a life well spent. ( I am paraphrasing because I cannot remember exactly what he said).

Service to humanity is one way of reducing bad karma from past lives. I do not think there is an instant cash reward.
