The DNA test wasn't going to satisfy anyone. This story would not have changed anyone's vote if she'd just said, "This what my mom told me, I have no reason to doubt it." Instead she did the genetic test and lost a few votes. I'm not sure she even lost that many votes after that nonsense.

I have not seen that. The claim is that her Great-Great-Great grandparents were Cherokee. Previously it had been argued that this person must have entered the family tree after the Trail of Tears.

Drewbot, however, was kind enough to show that she had fifth-generation ancestors in Cherokee-populated areas before the relocation, and that one of those ancestors even moved to Arkansas.

It was "previously argued" because I was the best hypothesis to explain her account. It collapsed. Further argument is cherry picking. She did not have a substantial basis to assert her ancestry when she did

The fun part is that there is record of a man with the "Clark" surname moving to Kentucky and marrying a Cherokee woman in the early 1800's. He seems to have been one of Pocahontas' descendants. It would be the height of irony if it were proven that Warren were actually a descendant of Pocahontas.

Exactly. Bill Maher has been complaining about this for years. American conservatives rally around their people to the bitter end. It's how we ended up with a criminal in the White House, a creep like Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, etc. Meanwhile liberals run their people through purity tests in their efforts to find the woke-est Buddha and, inevitably, every one fails somewhere along the way. Whether it's Bernie Bros who wouldn't come out for Hillary, I'm-with-hers who were pissed that Bernie didn't endorse Hillary strongly enough, friggin JILL STEIN voters, etc., the Left is just too damn stupid and fractious to recognize that 60% of what they want is not 100% of what they want, but it's a hell of a lot more than 0%.

Should we give Trump credit for playing Warren like a fiddle on this? I don't know. I'm sure his favorite bootlicker Sean Hannity assured Captain Spray-Tan that no matter how Warren's DNA test came out, his friends at Faux News would react to the results pretty much exactly like several posters here in this thread. Deny. Discredit. Cherry pick. Shift goalposts. Gish gallop. That's all it takes. A constant drumbeat of this crap is why millions of rubes in this country think Hillary Clinton's email server put this nation on the verge of collapse yet they're totally cool with the Russian puppet at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
