In the sealed indictment (and the sealing of the sealed indictment), Mueller made it clear that the arrest has to come as a surprise to prevent Stone from destroying evidence.
At least two of his places were raided while he was in custody.
There is a good chance that Mueller now has useful material that makes it unnecessary for Stone to be a credible witness.

Stone and Trump. Two of the sleaziest dirtbags to ever come down the pike. And they have been joined at the hip for decades. Neither would hesitate to lie or cheat or do anything unsavory at a seconds notice. Trump has a long history with porn stars and prostitutes and sleeping around. Stone was with the Mahattan Madam when he was arrested the other night. He was fired from Bob Dole's campaign for taking out swinger's ads.

Yes, he wasn't exactly shy about it. And with unsubtle and public attempts at witness intimidation.

If he tells Mueller how to find specific damning documents, recordings, etc., then he'd be useful to the investigation even he was never called to testify. And I agree that Mueller would probably be very hesitant to put Stone on the stand.

That said, the point that Zeidenberg made (as quoted by acbytesla) is also valid; Stone may well be a risky asset to have even if he's just asked to provide background data.

My personal view is that Stone is one of the real top villains of the last few decades of American politics and he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Yes.

As an aside, is it just me, or does he have a really strange-looking back of his skull?

You just can't makes this stuff up. I mean, who would believe it? Not you, I'm sure.

I bet you think Trump is a virgin and he's been a born again Christian his entire adult life. That 'Grab them by the pussy' is actually the Third Commandment, right after Ivanka is doable and Trump is the God almighty and put no other gods before him.

Huh, Not sure what that has to do with you making rape jokes in this thread.

Oh well...

Sure, I mean, Mueller's indicted many individuals, some of which have been found guilty, and is digging ever deeper, ever closer to Trump's inner circle, now even striking at Stone, but that doesn't mean anything. It's all procedural perjury trap nothingburger witch hunt lock her up grifters.

Correction: ALL of which have been either found guilty or who have plead guilty.

Mueller is batting 1.000 at the moment (if you don't count a hung jury thanks to one juror in some of the charges against Paul Manafort)

So far, there is not a single person Mueller has indicted who has been found Not Guilty or against whom the charges have been dropped - that is more than 30 individuals

Stone has one chance and one only and that is a pardon. The evidence he committed the crimes are in Congressional transcripts, emails, texts and other documents. It's really overwhelming.

I especially love where Stone tells Congress that he never texted Credico on the same day he texted Credico 30+ times.

Uh huh, diversion like bringing up getting fired from the Dole campaign, or calling them sleazy you mean?

Are you saying Stone wasn't fired? That Trump and Stone aren't sleazy? Or just that you don't think Trump is God because you're an atheist?

He said the art of the deal was second to the Bible.

:D Mea Culpa

Out of curiosity, has Trump read more than an excerpt from either? Or maybe has because he thinks they were about him?

Odd what y’all consider a diversion.

Getting fired from the Dole campaign, which has nothing to do with this thread? Not a diversion.

Quoting your posts from this thread expressing the desire that Stone get raped in prison? A “diversion.” I think we get it now.

1. I'm talking about the character of Roger Stone. Just indicted by Mueller. Hardly a diversion. Just more information.

2. I never said I wish that Stone got raped in prison. Only that he gets an ugly cell mate named Bubba who would make him his bitch. Given Stone's freaky history, I'm sure any activity between them would be consensual. Stone certainly has the appearance of a sub. And after all, it would hardly be different than his relationship with Donnie.

Trump has surrounded himself with sleazebags his entire life. As the saying goes, "If you want the measure of a man, look at his friends."

For the Roger Stone fans in the thread, I hope you've had a chance to absorb Jeffrey Toobin's 2008 experience with the man. Dude's a perv. (Toobin might be too, but Stone totally is, and an unapologet ic one at that.)

If you're about to sit down to a meal you might not want to look at this one, but here is bleached blonde Stone with Trump in 1999. Overtanned, weird hair – two peas in a pod. This would be about the vintage of the oh-so-creepy Donald-in-his-robe-on-the-bed photo.

Learning more about Stone this week has me more confident than ever that there is indeed a pee-pee tape.

I wouldn't really care that he and Trump are sexual pervs. It's the combination of hypocrisy and total absence of integrity that make Trump and him sleazy. It's the partnership of the Christian right and two people that would screw anything literally and figuratively.

Its that neither have a problem lying to anyone and everyone if it serves their purpose. Wives, friends, customers, investors and fellow citizens are just marks to these two.

Their sexual kinks may not be my cup of tea, but that is true about a lot of people. Real sleaze in my mind is people who lie, cheat and steal.

I am confused as to how the WSJ ended up with Stone's emails.

Was there a leak from the investigation? More hacking? Inquiring minds want to know!
I think they were in the indictment. There is a screen shot of the email in question in the Wonkette article.

I am not verifying the email or that the content wasn't Stone joking. I'm just saying "people are saying" ;) ... (kidding)

I'm posting that Michael Che on SNL said it was in a Stone email.
