It doesn't exonerate them. They engaged in a whole set of rude and obnoxious behavior in the video. If my daughter ran up and joined them in doing those things, I would be incredibly embarrassed.

Sorry folks. But you don't get to put on a MAGA hat and then claim you didn't mean anything by mocking the Native American. I might dismiss some of the antics as being stupid teens, but with that marker you are just racist teens.

The chaperones should have diffused this situation when it started in with the Black Israelite group.

And please, don't act like its some kind of revelation that Nathan Phillips approached the group. He said as much in his account from the start. He was hoping to diffuse the situation with his Peace Drum, but then when young Mr. Backpfeifengesicht got in his way and he ended up surrounded with the racist mockery and Build the Wall chants.

And yes, it was racist mockery. Again: MAGA hats.

The city (at least the mayor), the diocese, and the school are all taking this situation very seriously. As well they should. I suspect some chaperones may need as much disciplining as the kids.

I expect the Dead Agenting of Nathan Phillips to start shortly.

No they should not, its completely inappropriate. They would be better off in a classroom learning some history - maybe start with teaching them about the existence of Native Americans.

All the kids had to do to avoid what's coming is not wear the MAGA hats. This story would be a nothing burger if they hadn't been wearing those hats. They chose to put on racist apparel and now they're going to get what they deserve.

I wish I could reciprocate, but I'm very interested in your racist targeting of certain groups and your disregard for facts in your eagerness to demonise groups you don't like, even if they are groups of children. It would be great if you could explain how such hypocrisy can be wielded under any expectation that reasonable people might take it seriously.

Rubbish. Of the two groups in the video, which is the better behaved? You can't even bring yourself to say it. Or maybe there are three groups, including the drummer and his mate. You know, the drummer, a 60+ year old man who decides to walk right into a group of school kids, confront them and start banging a drum, then gets triggered when one of them stares at him.

And these kids are what? Fourteen, fifteen, sixteen? Most of them aren't saying or doing anything, even under constant abuse and taunting by that bunch of black lunatics you tacitly endorse. A couple dance around. Some cheer. One smirks. Maybe you can detail what standards you're applying here, and the hole you pulled them out of.

An hour and half of bigotry, racism, harassment and threats of violence and all we get is 20 seconds of some teenagers doing the tomahawk chop.
