Like most claims about hydrinos they tend to go back a forth depending on what issues the proponent is attempting to address. They are stable and safe when asked about safety yet as you note, Matthew Cline, are also purported to produce novel compounds with amazing qualities. Has 'hydrinos cure cancer' been touted yet? I recall something about Mills and some cancer cure but don't recall if it was related to his hydrino claims.

Being self-contradictory is just being a slacker and not commensurate with being given any additional slack.

Maybe Mills should have called it super-adaptium since its characteristics shift according to needs required of it..........lol

Um, that link is to a site that is stealing science papers via hacked credentials. You should probably warn people about that. Not everyone here is going to want to help support that. I don't.

Yes, the GUTCP equations...

How good you believe Mills' equations to be isn't particularly important. Far more interesting are the assumptions Mills must make to get him to his equations.

In some cases it seems Mills has started with his unevidenced assumption, spun it in ways that suit him, proposed fantastical models, derived equations for the concoction, then used the equations to "prove" the original, unevidenced assumption.

As science goes, that's pretty useless. Then again, since Mills is a documented liar, there is no reason to assume his science is real.

Yep, terrible, isn't it? It was a scientist who put me on to it. Emailed her about a paywalled paper of hers, and she sent me a link to her paper. On sci-hub. Shocking.

Not sure I fully comprehend this question. [snip]

Not sure I fully comprehend the answers. No insults intended but it seems like the answers keep getting more convoluted and communicate less information while the standing questions never get resolved. Again, I'm just an average guy with no formal training so far from an expert but in a sense the very type of person Mills answers should be directed to and his theories just doesn't come across as credible or even plausible. If one wants to offer a theory negating QM it needs to be complete and compelling - there is after all about 100 years worth of evidence and experiment confirming it so anything that would negate it would have to account for all that evidence - not little pieces selectively fired off. Really the whole Mills thing comes across as more medicine show than serious science.

One example of many why can't this be addressed and answered?

Thanks.

My hilite.

And you know that these derivations (etc) are rigorous because:
a) you personally checked them out
b) you asked someone you know is unaffiliated with Mills et al. and who you independently know has deep knowledge and experience
c) you trust Mills implicitly (i.e. you never consider independent checking to be relevant)
d) something else?
:p

Thanks again jonesdave116, I wasn't able to read the original paper but the rebuttal makes a good argument to impracticality.

You're welcome. And Recovering Yuppy has just given you a huge clue as to how to go about finding the original!

Thanks, but no thanks, while auger therapy did seem intriguing at first there didn't seem to much going on in actual application.

The rebuttal you cited probably explains why. Now I'm even less interested in the original paper than I am Mills' book and I ain't interested in Mills book.

Fair enough! :) If he couldn't get stuff right is his supposed area of expertise, there is little point in looking at the rest of his fantasies.

Then how would you know it requires "Different set ups"?

Mills has explained some methods to catch hydrinos in hydrino compounds in US20110104034A1 patent application, but recently he has hinted that a better method is now invented. New patent application is most probably made but not yet published.

The H -> H[1/4] hydrino reaction produces harmful EUV and soft X-ray radiation. However, these wavelengths get absorbed within 1mm or so of any type of atmosphere and aren't energetic enough to create any kind of radioactive by-products. As long as the reactor vessel isn't breached, then the reaction is very safe. The only waste product is dihydrino gas, which is difficult to contain, lighter than air and super stable. It will simply float away into space. The reaction itself is self limiting in the event of a reactor failure. Starving the reaction of source hydrogen fuel or suppressing the arc current will snuff out the reaction. The reaction has been run for many years in Mills lab. With the exception of wrecking the occasional heavy Molybdenum container nothing that would indicate a health hazard has been observed.

What binds two hydrinos together in a stable form? Why is it difficult to contain?
