Trump Tweets

Have the Democrats finally realized that we desperately need Border Security and a Wall on the Southern Border. Need to stop Drugs, Human Trafficking,Gang Members & Criminals from coming into our Country. Do the Dems realize that most of the people not getting paid are Democrats?

Trump in Iraq, asked if he had concerns about his visit:

Trump said:
Absolutely. When I heard what you have to go through. I have concerns for the institution of presidency. Not for myself personally.
OK folks, seriously, is there one human in the world not named Trump who believes that joke?

OK, a pure ad hominem...

Looks like they had to break out the XXXXL field jacket. I haven't seen a more ill-fitting military dress-up since Dukakis in the tank.

Just like his wife is supposed to have a degree, no one could support that with evidence, it was written on her bio page someone made up.

You can get a degree in standing around looking bored, uncomfortable and out of place? Where do I sign up and can I submit Christmas at my in-laws as course work?

Is congress back soon? Pass that budget over his veto. They could put him on ignore. Come back and leave him as the lame duck that is. A joke of a president.
Never going to happen. Did you miss the news that Trump's reelection campaign merged with the RNC? There is no GOP anymore, it's officially the party of Trump.

House Democrats are going to introduce a budget on Jan 3rd. If I were them, I'd add $5 billion earmarked for the National Park Service or infrastructure upgrades. We apparently have the money to piss away regardless, so it might as well go toward something useful.

Either way the Trumpers are going to shoot it down because they need to be seen making a stand, and introduce their own bill with whatever minor concession they've talked Trump down to. When that fails too, they can try to turn the debate against the Democrats' for their "refusal to compromise."

Fixed it for you, in sticking with Trump Hotel practices, war on xmas be damned:

If he hangs onto it, it might come in handy:

They can make all the servants, aides, grounds keepers stay home. They can restrict travel to necessary transportation only. They can cripple the White House Staff. If I'm Pelosi, I'm shutting off the heat.

Yep. Any day now. The crisis of the moment has been going to take Trump down any day now for... about 3 years now.

Trump's fall seems to always be right around the corner with the same vim and vigor.

Throughout the campaign Trump said Mexico was going to pay for the wall.

For a full two years Trump had a GOP House and a GOP Senate. If Trump wanted the wall so bad, why didn't he push this through then?

No, instead he decides to shut down the government just to fight with the Democrats?

Because it makes the Democrats mad.

That's why he's winning. His base didn't elect a good leader or a good person, they elected a troll and he's a master at it.

Trump is never going to lose a meaningful amount of support as long as he gets under the skin of the vague collective of "The Dems/Liberals/the Left" because that's the job he was hired for.

He's doing a great job if you take a step back and realize what both him and his supporters think it is his job to do.

He can do everything wrong. He can make every mistake. He can lie. He can contradict himself. If at the end of the day the "sissy, hybrid driving, latte sipping, big city, coastal elite lefties with their fancy book learning" have steam coming out of their ears, he's winning.

The photo made me think of Shakespeare and while looking up this quote from Macbeth:
Now does he feel his title
Hang loose about him, like a giant’s robe
Upon a dwarfish thief.

I found this one:
He cannot buckle his distempered cause
Within the belt of rule

ETA
note to self. Always read the last post in a thread before you make your post. Quoting Shakespeare immediately after liberals are mocked 1 for their fancy book learning does somewhat validate the position of the Trump supporters.

(1) although not in a serious and derogatory manner.

MORE ETA:
using footnotes in a post further validates the charge.

I'm convinced that the Democrats need to create commercials that effectively point out this insanity.

To start with an ad showing Trump at campaign rallies saying Mexico would pay for the wall and then at the end, posing the simple question If Mexico was supposed to pay for the wall, why are you shutting down the government? Or holding the American people hostage?

I'd like to see a Show Your Tax Returns campaign, intertwined with Russia. It writes itself in a 30 second ad.

Narrator: President Trump, please explain...
clip: Trump says he has a relationship w/Putin, has communicated directly
clip: Trump says he has never communicated w/Putin
clip: blanket denials of Russian contacts

Narrator: But it turns out that your closest advisers and family members actually met with Russian operatives
[image of headline about Trump Tower meeting]
Narrator: And you told a whopper about that meeting.
[clip of whopper]

Narrator: And you were in negotiations with the Russians at the same time you were deceiving the American people
[image of letter with focus on Trump's signature]

Narrator: And your long time confidant knew about the hacked emails before this was public knowledge
[picture of Stone with his prescient words quoted]

Narrator: And then you sell out the country in favor of Russia?
[image of Putin preening in front of Trump]
[clip of Putin and MBS high-fiving]

Narrator: Show us your tax returns Mr. President. The American people have the right to know.
Or something like that.

Trump would just start another scandal. He's been pulling the metaphorical fire alarm to get out of the intervention over and over his entire term.

Like I've said it's a real world Gish Gallop.

You know how Varys described Little Finger as so power hungry he'd burn the Kingdom down just to be King of the Ashes? Trump would burn the Kingdom down to distract us from a piece of spinach stuck in his teeth.

I get that at some point we are gonna probably have to find Trump's "Planck Distraction" sooner or later... but I don't think its gonna be pleasant.

I see that The PDJT has now co-opted an idea recently put forth by CNN's Chris Cuomo -- The "Don't Be A Sucker" meme.

Cuomo's been using it as a wake-up call, referring to the original anti-Nazi film of the title. Now Trump is using the word "sucker" in his speeches, trying to turn it to his advantage.
