I was just talking about this with my son's fourth grade teacher. At 9 and 10 she still plays the Santa game because there are always one or two who still believe. Seven is not all that marginal. Most seven year olds are, even if they've begun to suss it out, still playing along.

"Maaaaaaah! The mean man just said there's no Santa!"

Dolt 45 is more and more fitting. What kinda moron says "ooh, let's get a warm and fuzzy bit here for the cameras.... let's go over to the Sisters of Mercy Orphan's Choir and ask 'em what time their parents get home"

Helping children across the country track #Santa is becoming one of my favorite traditions! @Potus and I enjoyed working with @NORADSanta - #ChristmasEve

Donald Trump, answering phone call from 7-year-old on Christmas Eve: "Are you still a believer in Santa? Because at seven it's marginal, right?"

Now I’m picturing a 115 mile long contract. The biggest, best contract.

I’m picturing the contract scene in A Night at the Opera:
TRUMP: Hey wait, wait! What does this say here? This thing here?

GROUCHO: Oh that. Oh that's the usual clause, that's in every contract. That just says, "If any of the parties participating in this contract are shown not to be in their right mind, the entire agreement is automatically nullified."

TRUMP: Well, I don't know...

GROUCHO: It's all right, that's in every contract! That's what they call a "sanity clause."

TRUMP: Ha ha ha ha ha! You can't fool me. There ain't no Sanity Clause!

I am celebrating the Christmas gift of all the twisted notions of fascist sectarians in America going on display in the pathetic form of a vacuous loser lamenting how life is so unfair as he backstabs friends, betrays allies, kneels abjectly before strongmen, and willingly hands over American power and prestige for generations to come.

Never has "supremacy" been more plainly revealed as weepy lollipop addiction. Manhood, Confederate Republican style! Yeehaw!

Yeah. Knowing the stupid gutter rat is holed up, miserable and brooding with that loveless Eurotrash hag is the best Christmas gift of all. His misery is a gift to the world.

Awkward. He didn't know what to say to a kid. Wonder if he ever spends time with Baron.

This episode reminds me of an interview Trump did with Howard Stern years ago. (In the 2000s Donnie was a semi-regular on Stern's show, Opie & Andy and late night TV talk shows in New York City). Stern had three kids and he asked Trump about being a father when 'Dad' has a demanding high profile career. Trump was dismissive of the problems. He said he played no role in raising his kids. He said, "C'mon, can you see me pushing a stroller down 5th Avenue?" Trump said he provided the cash needed. Period.

Fortune...noted that Trump opened up about his non-parenting parenting style in an interview with Howard Stern, also in 2005. “I mean, I won’t do anything to take care of them. I’ll supply funds and she’ll take care of the kids. It’s not like I’m gonna be walking the kids down Central Park,” he said at the time, as per Fortune, adding: "Marla used to say, "I can’t believe you’re not walking Tiffany down the street," you know in a carriage. Right, I’m gonna be walking down Fifth Avenue with a baby in a carriage. It just didn’t work." Link

I don't want to sound like Doctor Phil, but it's not surprising to me that Trump would feel awkward around kids. An adult can't control or even predict what a child might say to them. Out of the mouths of babes. For someone with a huge ego like Trump's, that usually serves in part to hide massive insecurity, interaction with children must put him on edge. No adult would say to Trump, "Your hair looks funny," but a seven-year-old might. And he knows it. ;)

I'm sure many adults would like to say Donnie's hair looks funny, creepy or worse, but they know better. Why? Unlike a child, an adult can see Trump is a very vain, insecure and vindictive man. If you make a mocking comment to him, you've probably just made an enemy for life.

You just know that when some White House aide called Melania and told her she had to come back to the White House and spend Christmas with the Big Orange Turd she said 'No'.

Trump's Christmas Message to the USA

“It’s a disgrace what’s happening in this country. But other than that, I wish everybody a merry Christmas,”

Stuck in a mansion with servants catering to his every need is "Poor me".

8-Year-old boy dies in government custody on Christmas day, not a word.

So how long can he keep up the government shutdown?

Keep in mind that Trump has mostly failed his whole life. He'll likely fail to maintain his resolve here as well. When the adults return from the holidays I think they'll end the shutdown.

He seems to think it will make enough money to pay for his wall so I would guess the longer the better as far as he is concerned.

If he just keeps it going indefinitely and starts employing private security and mercenary soldiers instead of secret service officers and the military...

Has he installed himself as Dictator For Life?

He doesn't have the support to do that. His base is not a powerful majority, but rather a delusional minority.

If you think Blackwater/new name/new name/whatever Prince calls them now is more powerful that the military, I would doubt that judgement. Who else would this private military be and who would arm them?
