I think what is more likely is that someone tried to talk to him about the type of space command joemorgue talks about, when that passed through the Trump filter it became "space men with zappy laser guns".

Maybe he watched Moonraker recently.

Nah.

He'll still get his syphoning done.

You know how the old saying goes: "Once a greasy used car salesman, always a greasy used car salesman."

As Swiss Toni says
Watch me, learn from me. These aren't cars we're selling here, they're dreams. And to know about cars, to know about dreams, you have to know about women.
A woman is not just a creature that likes fine wines, Whitney Houston films, and the manly smell of a pipe.
A woman is a mysterious, complex box of tricks. When you're selling a car to woman, you have to imagine you're making love to her.
You have to seduce her. And when she buys, that's the Big-O: Orgasm central.
When you're selling a car to man, it all comes down to who's got the biggest todger.
You have to make him think that his is bigger. But, in order to sell it to him, you have to know that yours is the biggest.
You have to keep telling yourself, "I've got the biggest todger in the world".

The Democrats, are saying loud and clear that they do not want to build a Concrete Wall - but we are not building a Concrete Wall, we are building artistically designed steel slats, so that you can easily see through it....

....It will be beautiful and, at the same time, give our Country the security that our citizens deserve. It will go up fast and save us BILLIONS of dollars a month once completed!

America is the greatest Country in the world and my job is to fight for ALL citizens, even those who have made mistakes. Congratulations to the Senate on the bi-partisan passing of a historic Criminal Justice Reform Bill....

...This will keep our communities safer, and provide hope and a second chance, to those who earn it. In addition to everything else, billions of dollars will be saved. I look forward to signing this into law!

Will he start with a pardon of the Central Park Five?

I'm not complaining about this one. It's hard to believe Trump is supporting this one. There are still some Republicans trying to sabotage it. But it seems as if it will pass with bipartisan support.

I'm not complaining about it, either. I'm just curious if Tucker or Miller have pointed out that not only does this satisfy a couple of big-money donors (the Kochs have been coming down in favor of much broader reforms), but that many of the beneficiaries of these reforms may turn out to be (Gasp!) darker than the Osmond Brothers.... they're just as likely to have Willie Horton Redux, and actual Trumpistas may find themselves getting primaried by even worse reactionaries in the Bible Belt.

"First Step", indeed. The bill doesn't do much. But I suppose it's some kind of start.

Exactly once we kick into high gear with the hyper inflation his policies would cause everyone will be millionaires!(a million dollars will not buy a loaf of bread but everyone will have it)
Well, Trump does say that numbers are meaningless. Hyper-inflation is just numbers. Ask any Venezuelan. Then ask them how they feel about the market.

More everyday inflation is going to be the problem for Trump by 2020. People have grown used to low inflation rates in recent times, and they will notice the change.

If there's a stock market liquidity problem it's because the burgeoning government deficit is sucking money into the bond market. Both of which are all over the place. The markets feel jumpy, and I don't blame them.

The economy peaked too soon for Trump (and too late for Obama to get due credit).

The bill was weakened unfortunately. It was originally going to be retroactive.

The bill was more about reducing incarceration of non-violent offenders. And as much as I hate the partisan Koch Brothers, this bill had support from a lot of strange bedfellows, both Liberal and Conservative. It passed the Senate today with only 12 Senators voting against it...all Republican.

So much for going 'all in' with 9 high hand.

White House announces it will find a other way to get border wall funded. Shutdown won't happen.
I'm starting to think the encounter between Trump, Pelosi, and that other white guy is going to join the ranks of Nixon's "I am not a crook" speech as a watershed moment. Nothing could have pressed home more firmly on professional Republicans just what a liability Trump is. Every moment that he remains in power is a moment of peril for the Republican Party.

It's well worth noting that the Koch Brothers were never pure evil? They've supported a number of worthy causes. That shouldn't be forgotten. That they've also supported a lot of terrible causes and terrible methods to achieve their goals is plenty of good reason to condemn them, but not to condemn everything that they've advocated for.

No what Trump proposed was a full new branch. A space force to go along with the air force. This Space Command is simply not the space force that he was talking about.
Trump doesn't know that. The professionals who do want this Space Command are not going to disabuse him of the fact.

Trump just happens to be President when this came up. It's not really anything to do with him.

If that gets him off the hook, look for how he got money into the hands of the AG. I can't read past the paywall at the moment. But excuse me, if you rip off donors to a charity for years and all you have to do to get off is promise to quit stealing the money, that sucks. None of that money went to any charities IIRC. And if it did it was a token payment.

I was discussing this with a Trumpista parent at my son's school this morning. He is rallying behind "it's all in the optics" dodge. Trump didn't feel it was right to be seen golfing while protected by federal employees who were about to have their end-year paycheck held back. A friend chimed in.... "You're kidding, right. He has no fear of optics... he drives his damned golf cart up on the green and says the first damned-fool thing to come into his mind. It's far more likely that he is paranoid that if someone was to take a shot at him the Secret Service might be busy looking the other way!"
