Cont: The Trump Presidency 11: Insert something funny

I'm not sure why having his base reject an electoral outcome is a better situation than his base reject an investigative outcome.

I'm for not letting what unreasonable people might do dictate what can or can't be done.

I share these suspicions. But even if we're wrong, the mere proven fact that he did nothing* in the aftermath of Russian meddling in the election, after being told the meddling was ongoing, impresses me as a compelling reason to impeach him.

* except for being a Putin apologist, contrary to his own government/people

I wouldn't say I suspect that Trump was and is compromised. I am stating that as a fact. I have seen nothing in the last 3 years that would dissuade me from that conviction.

I should go back and look at my posts during the campaign. I distinctly remember being puzzled by Trump's positions regarding NATO and Russia. They weren't politically beneficial in the sense that his supporters/audience wasn't the least bit interested. In fact, if anything, I think Trump was likely to lose votes with those positions. But now it is crystal clear that he wasn't courting American supporters, but Russian supporters.

I am surprised that no one brought-up the enthusiastic  response the US delegation to the UN Climate Summit, COP-24, received for their "solutions" to global warming:

"President Trump’s top White House adviser on energy and climate stood before the crowd of some 200 people on Monday and tried to burnish the image of coal, the fossil fuel that powered the industrial revolution — and is now a major culprit behind the climate crisis world leaders are meeting here to address.

“We strongly believe that no country should have to sacrifice economic prosperity or energy security in pursuit of environmental sustainability,” said Wells Griffith, Trump’s adviser.

Mocking laughter echoed through the conference room. A woman yelled, “These false solutions are a joke!” And dozens of people erupted into chants of protest."

:o :boggled:  :eye-poppi :jaw-dropp

Pardon me for spilling my word choice on you! (actually) For the record, I'm strongly suspicious.

Ironically, a significant percentage of Trump's true believers don't think that Hatch, a Mormon, is a Christian and is therefore going straight to hell when the trumpet sounds, any time now.

At least he's being replaced by Romney who isn't as bat sht crazy.

I wonder how that chief of staff search is going. Candidates do not seem to be lining up for the honor.

What I find even more hilarious is how Trump gives Kelly the boot before he makes sure to have a confirmed replacement.

Instead he chooses to wing it and shoot from the hip, assuming there'll be hundreds of people lining up to jump at the opportunity to work in his administration.

The guy is a fricken moron... to the enth degree.

I think he is clearly impeachable (and guilty) if judged solely on the basis of his violating his oath of office to "defend the Constitution of the United States." His actions have repeatedly sort to undermine, counter, and destroy the very core of our lawful government. I see that as clearly "High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

<snip>

The same can be said of the vast majority of GOP politicians ... and their flunkies. And they aren't the least bit reticent about it. Look at what the GOP dominated legislatures are trying to do in states where a Dem won the Governor's office.

Just imagine if all of them were to be removed from public office

Sad thing is, Republican voters support the behavior. I think it has to do with the mindset of them, they love authoritarians that share their same "values."

Yeah, someone did, and it is EXTREMELY embarrassing for the Australian government too. It's in a non-USA politics thread.

Australia only nation to join US at pro-coal event at COP24 climate talks

I don't think we'll have to worry about either impeachment or reelection. I don't see The PDJT completing his first term. Either due to death by natural (self-inflicted) causes, or resignation as some last-ditch effort to show that it was his decision.

It's a strategy to make candidate feel obligated not to leave the White House without a critical position.

Don't forgot that Trump doesn't know or understand the work anyone else does for him, from being a child he has simply had to say "I want this to happen...." and it has happened. He has no comprehension of what work is, what tasks people have to do to make his whims happen. He has no idea what his CoS does, therefore having one or not is not a priority for him.

I can attest to this. Every time I talk to my father I'm assured that the economy is growing and there are more jobs opening up than ever. This is before I remind him that politics is a verboten subject (I don't want to argue myself out of +/- $85K in inheritance).

All he ever watches is Fox. In the car it's Limbaugh. And I don't get it. The man used to be a card-carrying, pot-smoking hippy. He gave next to zero credit to Reagan for ending the Cold War.
Proof pot rots the mind?
