Hopefully OPEC will be keeping oil flows as is, not restricted. The World does not want to see, or need, higher oil prices!

Most presidents would walk across the street. Obama routinely walked down Pennsylvania Avenue to Starbucks, and Clinton used to walk a couple blocks to McDonald's.

These posts go well together.

Trump believes that people only have a finite number of energy in their body that has to last their entire life. Physical exertion expends that energy faster and shortens your life.
(Not joking)

In fairness, I wonder what the top ten list is in terms of percentage. A 500 point decline when the market is at 26000 is less of a deal then when it is at 12000

The worst ever was in 1987, at -22%. Its basically impossible for it to be that bad ever again in a single day:

However, those breakers are based on the S&P 500, not the DJIA.

The suggestion that the secret service would let the President of the united States walk in public when the attention of the world is focused on DC because of the funeral is beyond ludicrous.

Sad!

Do you really believe that? Blair House is directly across the street from the White House, and the whole area is sealed. Other Presidents have routinely made that trip -- and farther -- on foot.

ETA: When Trump eats dinner at Maralago or his hotel, he's actually far more exposed.

Yes but TBD is committed to saying the exact opposite of what people whom he perceives are on the left are saying. It's beyond ideology at this point. It's reflex.

Food for thought as 2020 nears:
Unknown to most Americans, a parallel legal regime allows the president to sidestep many of the constraints that normally apply. The moment the president declares a “national emergency”—a decision that is entirely within his discretion—more than 100 special provisions become available to him. While many of these tee up reasonable responses to genuine emergencies, some appear dangerously suited to a leader bent on amassing or retaining power. For instance, the president can, with the flick of his pen, activate laws allowing him to shut down many kinds of electronic communications inside the United States or freeze Americans’ bank accounts. Other powers are available even without a declaration of emergency, including laws that allow the president to deploy troops inside the country to subdue domestic unrest.

President Trump traversed a wide political chasm Tuesday evening

Which one? Between "Republican President" and "Republican President" or between "human being who has lost a loved one" and "Trump"?

Raise your hand if you can think of a difference between a long planned parade route and walking trip back and forth from the Blair House...

Come on, tie on those thinking caps Skeptics!

Yeah, one difference is that potential assassins would have years to plan an attack on the miles-long public parade route that's been established for decades, and wouldn't have a chance to access a tiny, tightly restricted block at a random time with no notice.

SS doesn't really get to dictate these thins to the President...but they definitely throw fits if anyone in the first family just wanders out, and then send in someone high-level to kindly and gently ask them not to do that.

OTOH, Dolt 45 believes that we're born with a particular amount of energy and we die if we use it all up, and may not have known what a short walk it was. And then there was that time he rode in a golf cart when every other world leader just walked. My guess - it's cold out, he's lazy.
