Oh, I get it! I am a very good developer, happily living my life, when I see our Country going in the wrong direction (to put it mildly). Against all odds, I decide to run for President & continue to run my business-very legal & very cool, talked about it on the campaign trail...

...Lightly looked at doing a building somewhere in Russia. Put up zero money, zero guarantees and didn’t do the project. Witch Hunt!

To be fair, only 7.

I picture your arm twitching as you say that last part :D

I know - realising Smartcooky probably doesn't resemble Peter Sellers is a bit discombobulating.

I think you might have the right number, but misidentified one of the 'errors'. I have no reason to doubt he was "happily living his life". (He was living quite a luxurious life style through his scams... why wouldn't he be happy?) The lie is that the "country was going in the wrong direction". in fact, the economy was growing (the right direction), Crime was down (the right direction), the deficit was being reduced (the right direction), more people had access to health care (the right direction). It wasn't until after Trump got into power that things started going wrong.

See my correction above your post, which turns that first section into only one lie that he probably believes.

I give him the benefit of the doubt that he actually thinks that, hence not a lie. I don't believe he's a happy man for a second. People that small, that thin-skinned, that narcissistic, that angry, that lacking in self-esteem are not happy people.

You don't think he regards himself as a very good developer? It might be false, but not a lie.

7 is almost certainly true.
8 probably true if you limit it to financial guarantees, not political.

I see a lot of claims in that and no back-up or support for those claims.
Same here. I clicked the link assuming I'd come to a new understanding that a perjury trap is a real thing. I mean, I ain't no lawyer so maybe there's some subtle-but-important aspect to this that I've overlooked?

Nope. Flame-broiled nothingburger, evidently.

If the FBI wants to ask you some questions, then seek legal counsel and answer whatever questions counsel gives the green light and plead the 5th for any they don't. If you can't answer legitimate questions without perjury, then the problem isn't the questioning, it's the answering.

The tried and true technique for those who don't have support is to merely impugn the motives of those you're making a negative claim about, rather than to provide actual evidence. Impugning motives is unfalsifiable, so your claim stands for those who don't understand the illegitimacy of supporting a claim in that way.

I'd be happy to consider support that the claims in that are true, if such support exists.

Well, he is a former US Assistant Attorney and now focuses on federal criminal defense, and is considered an expert, so arguments from incredulity don't exactly move the big dog.

And it bears noting that he did link to backup, including but not limited to the Barry Bonds case, but our correspondent sees no back up....

If the FBI wants to ask you some questions . . .

Derail: A former tenant had applied for a job at Lawrence Livermore laboratories and the FBI sent someone to my house to interview me about the tenant. I made the guy wait maybe a half-hour or more outside my house, before I would even let him inside, until I could verify that he was who we was (which was a lot more difficult than you'd imagine). The issue was whether he was an actual FBI agent or a subcontractor, which made it difficult to verifying his identify.

I eventually answered all his questions, he acted totally professionally and respectfully the entire time.

If the Republicans see themselves as being harmed by association with Trump, they'll drop him. The only question is whether it's possible for Mueller to collect and make public the right information in the right way to make that situation a reality.

Given everything Trump has said and done before and during his presidency I find it highly questionable that Republicans are going to sour on Trump. Even if Mueller has undeniable proof that Trump not only knew that his campaign was conspiring with the Kremlin but that he ordered it I wouldn't be surprised if enough republican and Trump voters either don't care or believe Trump's lies like they have up to now.

In one of Dashell Hammett's great "Continnental Op" stories (about a private detective agency) the Operator,on seeing an obviousl false statement says:

"I spotted 12 lies right off the top, with the promise of many more to come".
