That's an interesting one. Has someone for apparently the first time managed to educate Trump about how NATO is actually funded?

Notice it was tweeted just as Russia atracked Ukrainian nave vessels and blockaded the Sea of Azov.

Maybe not even then.

On Facebook I've seen before-and-after shots of a Venezuela shop before and after socialism. Of course under socialism the store shelves were virtually empty. I guess this association was meant to make us afraid to elect Democrats - in the absence of good reasons to vote Republican.

I wonder if people will ever get wise to this stuff.

The 'shoot someone on 5th Avenue' caucus never will.

Do some research of your own for once before polluting this thread with snarky nonsense like you are not going to hold your breath.

“I collapsed crying a while ago, heartbroken for you Abu Abdullah,” Mr. Khashoggi wrote on Twitter, using Bin Laden’s nickname. “You were beautiful and brave in those beautiful days in Afghanistan, before you surrendered to hatred and passion.”

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/14/world/middleeast/jamal-khashoggi-saudi-arabia.html

Anyone who wrote that about bin laden after 9\11 was a ******* monster.

Let me know what other rudimentary research you need to be hand fed.

Do you have to put in a lot of effort in getting everything wrong or does it come to you naturally?

Poor Donnie. The lynchpin of his "tease the Chinese" gambit, the DPP in Taiwan, is in deep doo-doo. The DPP lost big time in their version of off-year elections, losing the majority of the city/county ridings and a couple of their traditional "must-haves", Kaohsiung and Taichung. The DPP president will stay in office, but she's resigned as party head, a tradition in Taiwanese politics. Since she's only been pro-independence due to DPP pressure, it's not likely she's going to spend a lot of time playing footsie with Trump's designs on the area. Taiwanese sentiment is decidedly leaning back to more cooperation with the mainland.

Knowing politics in Taiwan, I suspect she'll try to salvage her job by making overtures to China. Probably something seemingly innocuous to us, but important to them. Increased tourism is an easy thing. The Chinese use their tourists as an economic bludgeon. A couple of new j.v. between mainland electronics produces and Taiwanese would be more significant. Something dramatic like Huawei partnering with Foxconn would provide more bang for the buck. Whatever the moves or gestures, it ain't going to include getting more Trump-friendly. Jared and Ivanka can go suck an egg.

Mexico should move the flag waving Migrants, many of whom are stone cold criminals, back to their countries. Do it by plane, do it by bus, do it anyway you want, but they are NOT coming into the U.S.A. We will close the Border permanently if need be. Congress, fund the WALL!

Mmm? By this, it really sounds more like he thinks that they pay the US protection money that they just haven't been ponying up as agreed, not that he's managed to understand NATO.

This is probably in response to the recent news of the US firing tear gas into Mexico, at mothers and toddlers.

Still, perhaps the most important question is - why does he keep calling for Congress to fund the wall? Isn't Mexico paying for it?

Trump does refer to "military commitments" rather than financial commitments, but then he does also refer to "paying their fair share", so it's all very confused. As usual.

...which would explain why he's harping on about Europe paying money in to NATO, yet sulked like a little baby when he heard it suggested that Europe should have their own military.

That's a bit of a stretch. And they never referred to oil fired (diesel) as steam ships although the term under steam or steaming away has lived on beyond the use of actual 'steam' powered ships. I bet there hasn't actually been a Navy steam ship commissioned since before WWII.

Oil fired steam turbine certainly was a steam ship. The big difference is that going to oil over coal was that it didn't give huge clouds of smoke to give away position for a hundred miles. They used bunker oil not diesel for example. That is what is still coming up in pearl harbor.

Just saw Rick Santorum on CNN speaking about global warming. I was hoping for better from Santorum. I have found him in the past to be not quite as much of a partisan hack as, say, Cortes. To paraphrase Santorum: global warming is happening but how much can we say is caused by man? The scientists who are raising alarms are doing so seeking government grants and besides they rang the alarm bell 25 years ago and we're all still fine.

Here I figured he would just blame abortion(except the one his wife had) and the gays.

Sorry, Khashoggi (sp?) is now bin Laden's good friend?

Aren't you cute? If he was murdered by someone that Trump regards as an ally, he musta been mighty bad, eh?

How about this? Whether what he said was good or bad, indeed whether he was besties with Osama or not, it's ******* wrong for a nation to torture and kill a man in their consulate. That's just dastardly, to an extraordinary scale.

Yes or no? Forget Obama, who may have done worse. Just yes or no. Was it okay what happened to Khashoggi or not?

It was not ok but as a republican all morals and ethics are for sale at low low prices.

This was pointed out to me very convincingly and I admitted I was wrong. But thanks.

GM closing plants and laying off people:

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/nov/26/general-motors-set-to-cut-workforce-as-slowing-sales-and-steel-tariffs-bite
General Motors has announced it will halt production at five North American facilities and cut 14,700 jobs as it deals with slowing sedan sales and the impact of Donald Trump’s tariffs.

More than 6,000 blue-collar jobs will be hit by GM plans to stop production at a car plant in Canada and two more in Ohio and Michigan. Two transmission plants in the US will also be mothballed, putting the future of those plants in doubt.

The cuts will also include 15% of GM’s 54,000 white-collar workforce, about 8,100 people, and come as 18,000 GM workers have been asked to accept voluntary redundancy.

Kindly regale us with tales of how my quote to his eulogy to the mastermind of 9/11 is "wrong"

Could you exaggerate any more Big Dog? You never ever address the real issue and that is our scumbag President pathetic reaction to a member of America's free press being lured to Turkey where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia murdered and dismembered him.

Don't you see? Trump is encouraging an assault on the free Press.
