I'm tired of putting faith in what the institutions of government will allow. The only way Trump is leaving office is in handcuffs.

Yeah the Republicans have proven time and again when push comes to shove they will tow the Trump line. I don't think referring to them as 'spineless' is an insult, simply a succinct expression of the truth.

Of course, people responding usually wind up owning him. One, recalled a previous Trump 'thank you' to the Saudis:
“Oil prices getting lower. Great! Like a big Tax Cut for America and the World. Enjoy! $54, was just $82,” Trump said in a tweet. “Thank you to Saudi Arabia, but let’s go lower!”

The large and violent French protests don’t take into account how badly the United States has been treated on Trade by the European Union or on fair and reasonable payments for our GREAT military protection. Both of these topics must be remedied soon.

It seems Corey Lewandowski is surprised by the fact that gutter-rat-in-chief doesn't inspire loyalty. Maybe Lewandowski wants to get back in the inner circle. After the election results in the House, that seems a bit like running to be with the Captain of the Titanic. Trump might be the captain but he's going down with his ship. If Corey was a smart gutter rat, he'd get as far away from the ship as possible.

Just saw Rick Santorum on CNN speaking about global warming. I was hoping for better from Santorum. I have found him in the past to be not quite as much of a partisan hack as, say, Cortes. To paraphrase Santorum: global warming is happening but how much can we say is caused by man? The scientists who are raising alarms are doing so seeking government grants and besides they rang the alarm bell 25 years ago and we're all still fine.

How embarrassing were those thanksgiving calls to the military? Crazy uncle rants absurdly disconnected from the realities of the mission of the men in active duty. All about the narcissist in chief and his problems. What a bum.

And then the whole Khashoggi murder debacle where he lets the Saudis off the hook in the most transparently weak way for money.

But yeah some leftists said some silly stuff in the thread. Run along now.

One of the worst things I've seen from the Trump administration was their tacit admission that climate change and global warming is real. Incredibly, the statement was in an environmental impact statement in support of vehicle emission standard's rollback!
The draft statement, issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, was written to justify President Donald Trump's decision to freeze federal fuel efficiency standards for cars and light trucks built after 2020. While the proposal would increase greenhouse gas emissions, the impact statement says, that policy would add just a very small drop to a very big, hot bucket. Link

As some in the science community have said, the Trump administration, behind-the-scenes, acknowledges how dangerous climate change is and the extreme crisis the world may be facing towards the end of the century. Yet Trump's policy is to continue to ignore the dangers of climate change.

Yeah, I run into this a lot. On other message board, there are always folks saying that scientists predicted a 3-foot rise in sea levels by now and it didn’t happen so it’s all a hoax. It is rather difficult to get them to understand that (a) without a primary source for the 3-foot prediction, the claim can be dismissed, (b) your saying that you are absolutely sure you read it somewhere is not a primary source, and (c) no scientist would have predicted a 3-foot rise by 2019.

And now we can add professional homophobe Rick Santorum to the list of folks using lies to try to squash critical thinking in the US.
