Oh, the new head of the House Juciciary committee is not going to forget that little pun on his name.......
Let's childish insult a guy who , in a couple fo month's time, can do huge damage to you administration. Smart move, Donnie.

I sincerely hope that insult plays no role at all in Schiff's agenda. That would be stupid.

Punish Trump for legitimate wrongdoing because he deserves it. Who gives a crap about his silly namecalling? It is regrettable, downright shameful, but not a reason to change the investigations of a Congressional committee.

I am extremely happy and proud of the job being done by
@USTreasury Secretary @StevenMnuchin1
. The FAKE NEWS likes to write stories to the contrary, quoting phony sources or jealous people, but they aren’t true. They never like to ask me for a quote b/c it would kill their story.

I doubt it will. But you know what Phiwum? It wouldn't bother me if Trump was taken down for the childish insults he hurls at everyone. The man is disgusting. A pig. But I'm sure that Donnie boy has done plenty to justify the reckoning headed his way.

I noticed that the NY State Supreme Court Justice denied Trump's request to terminate the suit against him and his family involving the Trump Foundation today.

Well that is a kiss of death for him. Next week it's going to be, "I heard he was a nice guy, I didn't know him personally. He really only used to get the coffee for everyone at the Treasury department."

Some real world context for the SCOTUS spat:

In yet another aggressive attempt to bypass federal appeals courts, the Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Friday to hear a challenge to President Donald Trump's policy that bars most transgender individuals from military service.

The policy, first announced by the President in July 2017 via Twitter and later officially released by Secretary of Defense James Mattis, blocks individuals who suffer from a condition known as gender dysphoria from serving with limited exceptions. It also specifies that individuals without the condition can serve but only if they do so according to the sex they were assigned at birth.

...

Francisco has moved aggressively at times to get cases before a Supreme Court that is more solidly conservative with the addition of Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Francisco asked the justices to step in to review the lower court's decision in a case related to the addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 Census. He also asked them to review an adverse lower court opinion blocking the proposed phase-out of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Linky.

I think Trump might regret that juvenile off color pun on the new Charman's name./

I don’t think President Trump is capable of regret. That emotion requires admitting that a past action was unwise or wrong in some way. The president never blames himself for anything, so there is nothing to regret.

Judge allows lawsuit against Trump Foundation to proceed, rejects Trump claim that he can't be sued

Trump’s lawyers argued that “the lawsuit should be thrown out because the family didn't knowingly do anything wrong.”

That would mean that the White House is being run by people too stupid to understand the laws related to a nonprofit foundation.

Then again, if I were in the lawyers’ shoes I might try the same argument, “your honor, my client cannot be held accountable for breaking laws related to nonprofits because he is constitutionally incapable of understanding the term ‘nonprofit’; he cannot conceive of people choosing to spend time or resources on an activity for which they will not be paid.”

I know its probably just a reflex, "Throw everything against the wall and see what sticks", but it seems really strange that Trump keeps trying to use the "Can't touch a sitting Republican president" argument in court. After all, I think the Clinton v. Jones ruling showed that the president is not immune from at least civil court cases when they are in office.

fixed it for you - this way it makes perfect sense.

That's what I thought when I read it :)

"A lawyer for the Trump Foundation fired back in August, arguing in court filings that Trump can't be sued while he's in office. He also contended the lawsuit should be thrown out because the family didn't knowingly do anything wrong, and argued the suit was only brought because of political bias."

I love that they couldn't just pick a reason and threw all of them in there.

"Well, we didn't know what we were doing, and it isn't a crime anyway so we shouldn't be charged or sued, and they're just suing us because they hate us in the first place, right? And they're ugly, too."

No, I don’t think that DJT means a sitting Republican President. If he became unable to serve and VP Pence took over, I don’t think DJT would be arguing that no one can sue Pence. No, President Trump believes that a sitting President Trump can’t be sued. And even that is too limiting. President Trump cannot be sued now or after he leaves office - that’s his position.

Why? If it stiffens Schiff's resolve in opposing Trump's idiocy so much the better.

That would mean that the White House is being run by people too stupid to understand the laws related to a nonprofit foundation.

Exactly, they should be aware of the what such a foundation is allowed to do legally, 'ignorance is no defence' after all.

I see no positive purpose, in terms of winning 2020 and preventing the US from becoming an autocracy, in trying to out-Trump Trump. He's not popular. He wears on people like a hair shirt, even some supporters. And that shirt isn't going to turn into silk over the next 23 months.

Who cares why he does it as long as the blows land? I don't care if Schiff is motivated by a hatred off Trump's combover as long as he inflicts damage.

It's why he nominated Kavanaugh.
