Acting AG Matthew Whitaker is highly newsworthy for a number of obvious reasons, and he merits a thread where we can itemize his many shortcomings.
  • on record that Trump+Russia investigation is a witch hunt
  • vastly under qualified for the job
  • bat **** crazy ideas about the constitution and religion
  • sketchy background with a sketchy company
  • operated a faux non-profit and paid himself an exorbitant salary
  • public financial disclosure on lockdown by White House
The lawsuits that challenge his legitimacy are fair game here too.

I look forward to his appearance before the House Judiciary Committee in January.

So he's the perfect Trump appointee, then.

The new normal's pretty insane, I have to say.

Well republicans should be happy that we finally have a republican AG. No more RINO's like Session's.

When Whitacker appears before the Committee, what's the betting we will be treated to another insane right-wing rant accusing everyone from "the left" and the Clintons of all misfortunes that have befallen him, a la the recent Supreme Court nominee debacle. Bill and Hill will also be accused of Whitewater and Pizzagate again, satanic rituals, email fraud, murdering Rasputin, etc.

Bill-and-Hill Bingo, anyone?

Marbury v. Madison aye. OK, that means he is not in favour of checks and balances against the executive branch or the Congress.

Without Marbury v. Madison, there would be nothing to remedy Congress should they make a law which violates 1A.

The more I hear about him the more I think he was cooked up in some "Wierd Science" type experiment as Trump's Fantasy AG.

Among other things, when asked what the worst decision in Supreme Court history was, responded with Marbury v. Madison.

From the interview:

I’ve read extensively on Teddy Roosevelt, Abe Lincoln and Andrew Jackson. I’ve read extensively on the Alamo and the folks involved in the Alamo.

Wonder if he's aware that David Crockett quit Congress and left the US because of Jackson's treatment of the Cherokee.

He is guano crazy, wow! That interview proves that he should not be doing any law enforcement at any position.

I like the way he said, in the interview linked, "I’m certainly not a climate expert..." but told the interviewer:
It may be warming, I think the evidence is inconclusive, but there may be a human component to global warming. But that’s very small and it may be part of the natural warming or cooling of the planet.

The climate "may be warming?" Since he says he's no expert, where's he get this from? The human component to global warming, if it has any effect at all, is very small?

This is the toughest hurdle. The Republicans -- and a local Republican committeeman (who is from a technical background and is concerned with climate change) told me this -- know their base doesn't want to hear about climate change. Period. He said at the county committee meetings he attens, "You can't even discuss it." It's a complete deadend. Whitaker apparently fits right in.

Setting aside all the obvious indicators that Whitaker is a shameless shill for Trump, he's also a petty money grubber in his independent dealings. He was involved with the scam "World Patent Marketing", which was a fraudulent patent service company that scammed individuals with dreams of becoming successful inventors.

It's the petty nickle and dime scams that really stand out to me. They aren't just corrupt for the cause of power, they are shamelessly corrupt for any benefit, no matter how small or seedy.

This guy sounds like the perfect Trump sidekick in his business dealings. A mindless and scruple-free suck-up and hit-man who is also totally expendable if needs be.

Wait...wait...

Donny is the President of the USA now, not a business exec. He has responsibilities outside his own, an example to make, a country to lead. So is that gonna make any difference to his choice of AG?

Nup. :)
