Trump claims he doesn't know the new AG he picked despite meeting him a dozen times and being referred in the WH as Trumps eyes and ears in the DOJ.

Yet another case of:

"He's a great guy who does a great job, we have a great relationship."

Whittled down to:

"We don't know the guy, barely ever spoke, he was just the coffee boy."

FFS...

Does the pathetic attempts at con-artist BS with these people never end?

:boggled:

Today I was reminded there is a fine President named Donald:
EU President Donald Tusk made a similar suggestion in May after Trump had pulled out of the Iran deal and the Paris climate agreement, threatened a series of trade disputes with Europe and constantly criticized NATO.
"Europe must do everything in its power to protect, in spite of today's mood, the transatlantic bond. But at the same time we must be prepared for those scenarios, where we will have to act on our own," Tusk said.
Tusk also said that the EU "should be grateful" to Trump "because, thanks to him, we have got rid of all illusions."
"Looking at the latest decisions of President Trump, someone could even think: With friends like that, who needs enemies?" Tusk said, later adding, "He has made us realize that if you need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of your arm."
Old news, but quoted again in the press today, and warmly welcome in the face of strenthening US fascism and the prospect of future Trumps. Great way to start my day.

It just doesn't get any more truthier than that folks.

Welcome to the new world known as Trumpland.

Who knew such an incoherent useless chunk of flesh could so easily change the entire political landscape of the planet?

Not this pussycat.

Maybe high level positions like Attorney General should require that the person be approved by the advice and consent of the Senate so that we don't have these types of surprises. Maybe we should even put it into the Constitution.

But what if the president wants the Attorney General to help him commit crimes? That would be an inconvenient process for that.

I think Trump now knows that nobody cares about his lies except those who are already his enemies, so he lies just to mock them. I'm sure some trumpers believe everything he says, which must get awfully confusing, but I'm convinced that most just think it's funny that he lies constantly.

Trump Tweeted

"There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!"

Trump Tweeted

"Matthew G. Whitaker is a highly respected former U.S. Attorney from Iowa. He was chosen by Jeff Sessions to be his Chief of Staff. I did not know Mr. Whitaker. Likewise, as Chief, I did not know Mr. Whitaker except primarily as he traveled with A.G. Sessions. No social contact..."

"....Mr. Whitaker is very highly thought of by @SenJoniErnst, Senator @ChuckGrassley, Ambassador @TerryBranstad, Leonard Leo of Federalist Society, and many more. I feel certain he will make an outstanding Acting Attorney General!"

Trump Tweets

"I am in Paris getting ready to celebrate the end of World War One. Is there anything better to celebrate than the end of a war, in particular that one, which was one of the bloodiest and worst of all time?"

Seriously? America - please hurry up and remove this crooked, ignorant ****wit from office and get him fitted for an orange jumpsuit.
He's way past just embarrassing the USA.

Which brings us back to the perennial question: is he a compulsive liar or is he lying as a conscious tactic? He is not a strategic liar because so many of his lies contradict each other and because he lies even when not necessary. Or is he lying mostly a symptom of the out-of-control Narcissitic Personality Disorder?

As for his supporters, some professionals have speculated that his followers look at his, shall we say, inability to keep his facts straight is merely evidence of his passion for his job.

I think it is pathological. I really think he has no conception of truth or objective facts. So in a very specific and limited sense he isn't lying.

Is this the result of illness or upbringing and his environment? Always hard to tease the two apart and I suspect it will be a combination of both. He's always been a liar and egotistical to a degree we rarely see, but that could be mostly his environment. There is evidence that alongside that aspect he has also over the last couple of decades suffered a marked reduction in his cognitive abilities, perhaps there is some physical cause of that.
