Giving the brits whatever they want.
They'd have to know what they want...
Don't blame me, I want the whole bleddy brexit mess stopped as soon as possibleGiving the brits whatever they want.

The sad, and to me strange, thing is that it's probably not 60% who now oppose Brexit. The Leave vote is remarkably resilient.
The remainers like to drone on about leave not having a plan. They're wrong, of course,
but putting that to one side, what is the remainer plan for the situation where they get their wish for a referendum re-run but lose it again?
Brexit should have taught them not to ask a question without being prepared for both possible answers.
David Cameron is the one who most needed to learn that lesson.

You see, if you campaign to prevent Stupid Plan X, then how is it your responsibility to make stupid plan X work? What bizarro universe do you occupy where it isn't actually the responsibility of the people who came up with Stupid Plan X?
Oops?

The reluctance of the Brexit politicians to sign up to the Irish backstop reveals them to be a pack of liars. If they really believed there was another way to keep the Irish border open through a superduper trade deal, they would sign up to it secure in the knowledge that it would never be needed.
Their refusal to sign shows that they know it will be needed and they've been lying all along.
The backstop applies if the EU decides that it won't allow the other solutions to work. That's the problem - it allows the EU the option to continue to control the UK even after the UK has left.
Most excellent observation, good sir. I find such rough language reminiscent of my youth, when I mixed with at least one commoner. /just kidding (Really! There surely were a few more.)
Further to your point and in the first place, what sort of mythical beast is any deal which would preserve all the benefits of membership while removing all its costs and duties? This impossible goal was based on runaway imaginations of some renascent "national sovereignty" mightily clearing the field of all enemies and competitors before a shining Britannia. Gee.
If one misses the cannon fire on the high seas, then one should buy a set of "Black Sails" DVDs or watch reruns of Master and Commander until terminal "flat butt" does away with them.
