Why can't he kill the probe and destroy the results of the probe before the Dems actually take control in January?

ETA: destroy whatever results of the probe have not already been released (indictments, etc.)

That would be destruction of evidenced in a criminal probe...a felony offense.
ANd the Dems would just begin the probe again.

Okay and?

COnstiional crisis time.
Thing is there is no way Trump can do that in secret, and there is no debate:The president has commited a felony. He can't use any defense of executive privilege for that.

Just to be clear, even if the probe ends, it would still be a felony to destroy any document produced by the probe before the probe ended.

I think Trump thinks his "I can do anything I want unless someone stops me" clause will protect him.

I'm pretty sure he's wrong. I'm not 100% sure he's wrong.

Yep.

Smart option would be to take the results and bury them. Note: this assumes he takes the smart option, which he often does not.

So when does he start raging against Hispanics the caravan again?

Sessions letter of resignation said he was resigning at the request of the President. That means he was fired.
I'm a little surprised that Sessions didn't actually make Trump actually fire him, just so that there can be absolutely no wiggle room about what happened. (Yes, I know "asked to resign" is generally taken as "fired", but even if the resignation was asked for it still gives Trump an out to use with his supporters.

There has been a lot of animosity between the 2 of them... Sessions saying "Nope, not resigning. Fire me or shut up" would have been a better narrative.

Have we like kept track of how many Cabinet Members and "inside circlers" the average President fires or has them "resign?"

Trump's got to be beating the average by... like a lot.

Yes. Destroying evidence in any criminal investigation is a felony. Parituclary an on going one.
It would be legal suicide for Trump.

That happens when you are the boss from hell. I think a lot of them were glad to go, frankly.

This article is from way back in March, and I'm pretty sure Trump has fired/made quit several people since then:

The first year of President Donald Trump's White House has seen more firings, resignations, and reassignments of top staffers than any other first-year administration in modern history.

His Cabinet turnover exceeds that of any other administration in the last 100 years.

Human beings would be on the receiving end of those bullets. People's family and friends.

This.
The use of force is an absolute last resort. I think we are still a long way from that in the US.

I wonder how many of these people who so lightly advocate violence will lead the charge, or are they just "Internet Revolutionaries".

He is right, of course as the only people who can stop him are solidly republican. As long as he has solid republican support he really can do anything he wants.

The question is would republicans support such blatant crimes?

Yeah, Collins and Hunter are currently under indictment, and stand a good chance of being convicted and jailed while in office. I’d love to see those two dirtbags go to prison. Menendez has already been cleared, and is currently in no legal jeopardy, although I believe he simply got away with it and should himself be in prison.

IIRC, what he was accused of doing has since been (mostly?) legalized because corruption is fun!

I see that last night's results have not had an impact on the troll population.....

Congressional Republicans, at long last, have you left no sense of decency?
