I hope there is a part 2 and 3. The whole story is comedy gold.

It is comedy gold, but... even moreso after seeing the direct connection of Wohl to Trump, I have a hard time seeing it as much more than yet another possibly intentional shiny, but mostly meaningless, distraction for the MSM and those who don't like him to distract from the blatant lies of the GOP and the more impactful crap that Trump's doing. Like -

Oh, and Trump has signed a waiver permitting Solicitor General Noel Francisco to oversee the Mueller investigation, in case Rod Rosenstein is relieved of his duty.

This was necessary since Noel Francisco's former employer, Jones Day, is currently representing Trump during said investigation.

That would be a mistake. While you think this 'comedy gold' is a 'meaningless distraction' Trump supporters are weaving it into their worldview. This is what feeds them and gives them power, how Trump got where he is now, and how he will stay there.

Many of us who thought Trump's antics were 'comedy gold' in 2016 are no longer laughing. If only we had treated him more seriously back then, we might not be in this mess today. Some warned us, but we didn't listen - thinking it was just a 'distraction' from more important stuff. Turns out this is the more important stuff!

Hmm? You consider things like this to be more important than, say, Trump's actions with regards to Iran? Large scale and widespread voter suppression, sometimes done in outright illegal ways? Highlighting the GOP's lies, such as that seen in their claims that they're somehow protecting pre-existing condition protection despite actively trying to end it? Trump's endorsements of violence against political foes? His administration's continual undermining of worker and public protections? His administration's incredible wastefulness? The complicity and support of the Republicans in congress for Trump? There's plenty more, but... in short, no, Wohl's a side-show, not the more important stuff, and it would be of no surprise to me at all if this was intentionally done right before the mid-terms as yet another diversion (the "Mueller is accused of" part, not the part where the chargers are utter imbeciles). Your complaint completely misses the meaning of importance and jumps straight to plausibility. Trump getting elected was always quite plausible, regardless of how many just didn't want to face how influenced by partisanship and the most recent versions of Republican Party propaganda their base is.

Even worse, it was signed months ago (April?) and kept a secret. It was not listed among the waivers listed on the White House website (as it was supposed to be).

I just saw on CNN where Roger Stone says that his attempts to intimidate a witness are just two grumpy old men bantering. I hope that's true. It would be funny if Stone went away for intimidating a witness when it he wasn't really intimidating a witness, it was just two grumpy old men sending text messages. I would be so amused if Stone spent the rest of his life in jail over taunting on old frenemy.

Very good point.

Looking forward to seeing what Mueller has to show us after the midterms.

Yep, it's a flashing light atop the red flag. If they had at least put him on the list, they could pretend there was nothing unusual about the waiver.

You make very good points, but if it's the comically stupid stuff that energises his voters then this allows the things that actually matter to happen. "Lock Her Up" was more important than a direct, public, televised and answered appeal to Vladimir Putin.

According to NBC News, Voters Nationwide Disapprove of the so-called Mueller Investigation (46%) more than they Approve (41%). You mean they are finally beginning to understand what a disgusting Witch Hunt, led by 17 Angry Democrats, is all about!

Breaking news.

Sessions resigns at request of Trump.

I'm shocked! Shocked, I tell ya! I never saw this coming.

Well, that sucks.

Not that I think Sessions should have been appointed in the first place. But, I recognize that probably anyone Trump nominates will be a poor choice, and at least Sessions acted as a thorn in Trump's side.

Not only should Sessions not have been appointed, he is a vile racist who straight-up hates individual rights when applied to women, minorities, non-Christians, and the poor.

Sorry, but there is literally no downside here. Whatever irritation he has caused Trump was not worth having Sessions in charge of the Justice Department.

Talk about cherry picking. One exit poll vs all the other polls taken.

Ooooh.....Obstruction of Justice. That's an actual offense.
Not sure what your point is (whether you are suggesting getting rid of sessions is considered obstruction).

The problem is, Sessions resigned rather than getting fired. That would probably make it a little harder to say that Obstruction took place.

Sessions wrote in his resignation letter that he resigned at the request of the President. He was fired.
