Did a little research on collins and hunter. In addition to the felony charges against them:

Duncan Hunter engaged in some pretty racist rhetoric during the election, accusing his opponent of being an Islamic terrorist (despite the fact that he was actually a christian).

Chris Collins once compared a Jewish politician to Hitler, and according to 2 witnesses (both republicans) he told a woman at a crowded event that she could find a place to sit if she offered lap-dances.

That's actually funny.

Well in Canada it does prevent it as the Senate is not elected, but appointed.

I have said for ages that I'd like the UK upper house to be chosen by a similar process to Jury Service, but with no penalties for refusing, and significant incentive to accept.

Note that Menendez was actually tried and not convicted. The two congressmen were under active indictment as they ran for re-election.

Yeah, Collins and Hunter are currently under indictment, and stand a good chance of being convicted and jailed while in office. I’d love to see those two dirtbags go to prison. Menendez has already been cleared, and is currently in no legal jeopardy, although I believe he simply got away with it and should himself be in prison.

My suggestion was to fill the Senate with experts in various, predetermined fields. If someone can check the impact of legislation, it'd be experts in science, tech, economy, etc.

Of course, they'd be appointed for political reasons often enough, but at least if they know their fields it'd hypothetically keep the Senate relatively neutral.

You don't need a degree from Wharton to know that the best way to improve the quality of life for most Americans would be to simply give workers a bigger share of the wealth that they create. Concentrating wealth leads to a stagnant economy, but reactionaries have been brainwashed into thinking that "share the wealth" means their tax money going to freeloaders. They'll vote for politicians who promise to cut social programs and not care about them giving huge tax breaks to corporations and the already wealthy, then sticking all of us with the credit card bill. But don't suggest that they're not very bright -- that just makes 'em mad.

Says he can't release his tax returns because he's under audit, under "continuous audit."
I wonder, with the recent allegations of tax fraud that Trump has been involved in, whether we will go from "I can't release my tax returns because they are under audit" to "I can't release my tax returns because they are evidence in an ongoing criminal investigation".

Nixon released his returns while under a real-life audit!
******* Nixon!
More integrity than the despicable criminal we allow to sell the US to Russia.

Ballots fail, bullets are an option

Numerous observers say they're sure Mueller already has Trump's returns, and several House committee chairs -- who will soon be Democrats -- are legally entitled to obtain them from the IRS. The question is whether the public will get to see them.

Trump also claimed that his businesses are so big and his returns so complicated that nobody could understand them anyway.

The assistant trying to literally rip the mic from Jim Acosta's hand and Trump yelling at him to sit down. He (Acosta) was a bit aggressive but Trump clearly hates him and his network.

Note that Acosta was "aggressive" in defending CNN after Trump insulted him and them at length.
