2018 mid-term election

Given all we know about Trump and Republican party acceptance of this terrible administration, I look at the poll projections and struggle to understand how these will be close races, but they are.

Did you see the idiot teachers and the principal in Idaho who dressed up as a brick wall with MAGA on it along with other teachers that dressed up as stereotyped Mexicans? They have now been suspended.

Then there are Haley and Bolton at the United Nations yesterday singling out the new axis of evil: Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba claiming their citizens are denied the most basic human rights.

There are hundreds of homeless camped under tarps and cardboard in Seattle and Haley has the gaul to say Cuba denies citizens basic rights.

I think we just aren't in touch with the widespread racism in the US. CT beliefs are entrenched in the mainstream.

I generally respect your figures, and I tend to get a bit emotional when I forecast, so you're probably closer than I am.

I currently see

Senate: GOP 52 - Dems 48
House: GOP 210 - Dems 225
Governors: GOP 28, Dems 22........

House: GOP 165 - Dems 270

"Rumor has it that Senator Joe Donnelly of Indiana is paying for Facebook ads for his so-called opponent on the libertarian ticket. Donnelly is trying to steal the election? Isn’t that what Russia did!?"

I don't know Donald, is it?

"In all the time I’ve been President, almost two years, never once did Senator Bill Nelson call me to ask for help for the Great State of Florida. I never see him until election time...."

"...Lake Okeechobee and all of the hurricane money were a passion for Rick Scott, who called endlessly on behalf of the People of Florida. Vote "

I'm trying to figure out if it was better or worse when racist even bothered to try and hide it.

It's *much* worse to deal with someone who knows how to hide their bigotry - the people that are open about it will let you know where you stand with them, while the person that knows how to hide it will eventually stab you in the face with it, after you et your guard drop and learn to trust them somewhat.

The odd part about many racists in the GOP is that they're so clueless about what racism is, they're open about it but since they don't bomb churches or burn crosses, they think they're perfectly nice (dem racists are like this as well, but more of a "you poor black man/woman..." way and less of a "what's wrong with the 14 words?" way).

"Heading to Pensacola, Florida - will be there soon. Amazing lines of people wanting to get in - what a crowd! Is this a sign of Republican Strength on Tuesday?"

I've been friends with people of all races throughout my life, but mostly black people. I know how put-off they are by this "not racist" peacocking. I've noticed a strong correlation between those claiming to be "not racist" and those who live in lily white countries.

Trump is incredibly childish. He never forgets a slight and holds a grudge. He is all about getting revenge on anyone who crosses him. Great trait in a president.

When the people at the UN laughed at him, I wouldn't have been surprised if he had immediately threatened to bomb them. As it is, I'm sure he has a list of everyone who was there.

Umm, homeless people in Seattle are afforded far more human rights than citizens of Cuba.

ETA: They also have more rights than citizens of Singapore

Have you got a graph for that correlation too?
