2018 mid-term election

"Ugly Democrats always take their clothes off then falsely accuse men of sexually assaulting them."

Funny how almost all the commenters, including those purporting to be of the female persuasion, find it clever to comment stuff about how it's and that no one would even want to rape these dogs.

First of all, there are a number of very attractive women in the shot, so I guess the Incels just hate any naked body they can't have. Secondly, this is the standard by which paleos and reactionaries now guide their relationships. "Hey, the bride was beautiful - you just wanted to rape her on the altar, amiright!"

It's an old meme, merely updated for the current year where it seems even more appropriate. The Twitter responders all have tags describing their undying patriotism, claims of being nativists(in the Bill the Butcher style), and rampant Trump support. If you guys think the ad is doing no good, think of the sixteen and seventeen year old girls reading that crap as blatant confirmation that conservatives are misogynist dogs.

Good work. George (Soros) will have your check ready on Wednesday after you've blown the election.

"Democrats think that this will help defeat Republicans in the Midterms. One thing they did defeat is my dinner."

From the comment section

There's literally no way to rationally say that 20,000ish foreigners marching toward your border waving their country's flags, slandering your President, burning your flag, threatening violence and supported by UN Troops....is NOT AN AN INVASION!!!

Now you're getting down to Mark Dice? Is this a "How Loooow Can He Go" dance challenge?

Sane people don't even read Gateway Pundit, Mark Dice, etc.... And you're citing them as though they are argument-clinchers. (logger's ghost called and suggested you plug "Conservative Tree House". their clicks dropped by 40% after he stopped spamming for them.)

If it wasn't obvious before: the Republican party has now not just undeniably embraced the foaming at mouth crackpot conspiracy theorist wing of the party, which was earlier dismissed as "fringe and irrelevant", but also brought their racist xenophobic crackpot conspiracy theories to the front.

The reason is plain as day: most republicans will keep voting Republican no matter how utterly desperate the party becomes in scraping the bottom of the barrel for voters.

I can only imagine Trump's 2020 election campaign: vote Trump or else the liberals will send smelly brown illegals to rape and murder you! Black helicopters will mutilate your cattle and the UN will set up concentration camps unless Trump can stop them!

This is coming from someone who clearly does not understand US politics.

I already saw that back in 2008. "If Obama wins the election, California's cities will be overrun with hordes of illegal immigrants, robbing, raping, and killing Americans."
Granted, this was coming from Michael Savage, who ranks pretty high on the nutcase scale.

Cruz suggests O’Rourke campaign funds being used for 'people coming here illegally'

(R) suggested on Friday that staffers working for his opponent in the Texas Senate race, Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D), were using campaign funds to help "people coming here illegally."

Cruz also called on O'Rourke to say whether he supported allowing a migrant of caravans to "cross illegally" into Texas.

"I thought it was a joke, until video broke this morning of his campaign staffers taking campaign money and apparently using it to give to people coming here illegally," Cruz said in a speech, according to a clip posted by a Cruz campaign official on Friday.

"There are radicals on the left who want to tear down our laws," he added. "By the way, Beto has not answered a simple question: Should we allow this caravan to cross illegally into the state of Texas?"

Is anyone else experiencing high anxiety that Trump will become so afraid of losing that he decides to do something drastic to turn things around? This is a man who would clearly not be concerned about any consequences except whether or not he wins.

Immigrants. Gays. Trans. Commies.

The right wing just loves to be scared about other people.

I voted first in 1972. I voted Republican. Before long, I realized that the one overriding emotion in the GOP is fear. They fear change, they fear minorities, they fear just about anything that they think is going to change their God-fearing Christian, straight, white, male privileged world. That's why I became a Democrat. I refused to buy into the GOP fear based view.

ETA: Democrats look forward. Republicans look backward.

My prediction (including "not-ups" when applicable):

Senate: GOP 53, Dem 47
House: GOP 219, Dem 216
Governors: GOP 27, Dem 23

turnout: the usual for mid-term elections or slightly lower.

See you next Wednesday.

I generally respect your figures, and I tend to get a bit emotional when I forecast, so you're probably closer than I am.

I currently see

Senate: GOP 52 - Dems 48
House: GOP 210 - Dems 225
Governors: GOP 28, Dems 22

There's a little trick in the Gov trackings as one of the toss-ups is Alaska and it's currently Independent. I had hopes of GA and Alaska going blue but the Big Red Machine is looking like it will hold GA. Anyhow, we're close on Gov/Senate but I think Trump's bombast is hurting them in the Congressional races.

This was the guy who whipped his armed supporters into a frenzy when he thought he was losing the 2016 election, so I'm not ruling out Trump doing something ridiculous or dangerous, no.

At this point I have very little doubt the GOP is going to lose the House but keep or extend their lead in the Senate. I'd put the over/under line for the Democrats at 227 in the House and 52 for the GOP in the Senate. Not sure about the Governors.

Maybe a false flag terrorist attack?
