Cont: The Trump Presidency X: 10-10 'til we do it again

I must say, I detest discussing this kind of trivia. (The umbrella incident) if overall Trump was a good guy, would we really care? I don't think so. It might be emblematic of the kind of person Trump is, but it is not worthy of discussion.
I don't disagree. It is all that...well maybe. But I can't imagine that the 25th will be invoked over these things. So when we discuss it, we look petty.
Here's the problem... Before the election people talked about the real issues... his health care "plan" (or lack of it) which would result in people lacking coverage. His border wall that would be extremely expensive and be totally ineffective. His muslim ban that would be totally ineffective. And what did we get? 4 years of President Stubby McBonespurs.

Lets face it, Trump's base of supporters isn't really smart enough to talk about the real issues. They will eagerly swallow any bunk that Trump spews out, regardless of whether it would actually work, or whether it contradicts something Trump had previously said.

Maybe when dealing with Trump, petty might actually work. The racist Trump supporter (well, ok that is a bit redundant) isn't smart enough to understand "Oh, Trump is lying when he talks about republicans supporting health coverage for pre-existing conditions", but perhaps they may be smart enough to understand "The president's penis is small so he is not as manly as I want the president to be" or "The president is too dumb to operate an umbrella", and thus decide to not vote for him.

Yeah, I actually think the people who deify Trump and seem to want to live in a dictatorship under his rule actually do care when he does things like wander out of the room when he's supposed to sign a treaty or fail to close an umbrella. It makes their wannabe banana state dictator look like an incompetent fool.

Jewish leaders tell Trump he's not welcome in Pittsburgh until he denounces white nationalism

https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...say-trumps-not-welcome-in-pittsburgh-until-he

An extract from the letter the group wrote to Il Duce:

“Our Jewish community is not the only group you have targeted,” the group wrote. “You have also deliberately undermined the safety of people of color, Muslims, LGBTQ people, and people with disabilities. Yesterday’s massacre is not the first act of terror you incited against a minority group in our country.”

Beautiful!

I wonder what the Dolt’s reaction is going to be? Will Ivanka and Jared by visiting to offer their condolences?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Look like?

He is an incompetent fool.

...

To be fair -- or at least not to accuse all Trump supporters of being that stupid -- we see trumpers on here all the time who know that Trump spews bunk but just don't care. I'm pretty sure many will go wobbly if they ever perceive him to be a political liability to their "conservative movement" rather than an asset. There is some small chance that some trumpers are smart enough to eventually realize that they are also hurt by Republican policies and mostly getting smoke up their asses in return for their support, but I wouldn't count on that; mostly, they'll support whatever comes after trumpism as long as it's anti-liberal and anti-Democrats.

What's even more terrifying is the blue wave that's coming on November 6th.

A blue wave of liberal tears. Caution: Flood Warning!

Ha ha! Ha ha. That is a fine way to advance the conversation as well as a darned funny joke, which works on so many levels.

You really should write more of your own words. They have an insight that is missing from most of the folk you quote.

The GOP controls everything - so the only way for Democrats is up.

Er, no?

The Senate is likely to gain Republicans. It's possible (though unlikely) that the House does too. Either of those are down.

Imagine a Senate where the already rare moderate Republicans matter even less.

Nonsense. Instead, the base views it as an unwarranted personal attack on
Trump and becomes that much more disgusted with the "other side".

If you honestly think that you can find a Trump supporter who says, "I thought his policies were okay until I saw online complaints about his handling of umbrellas and the size of his penis. I'm going for Dems this time around," I'd sure as hell like to see you try. It's a silly tactic (but most folk mocking him about the umbrella, say, are just venting).

Fake News CNN -- the least trusted name in news.

That's just a claim from Trump; that's nothing. To take it seriously, you would have to hear from someone unconnected to Trump. Trump always comes with assumed dishonesty. That is especially true when he's in front of the failed genetic experiments and products oh incest who go to his rallies.

it has moderate Republicans? How would you know, given their voting record?

Losing a seat or two when you are the minority anyway won't change Senate politics. In fact, it might help "moderate Republicans", should they exists, to break from Party Unity.

I think that's very true. These are people who are defined by what they're against, not what they're for.

Trump Tweets

"There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly. That will do much to put out the flame..."

"....of Anger and Outrage and we will then be able to bring all sides together in Peace and Harmony. Fake News Must End!"

That tweet should be an impeachable offense.

This is pure BS. What does he want them to report? The reality is, he just wants favorable news coverage. He wants CNN, for example, to report the Russia investigation -- does anyone even remember that? -- as a politically inspired witch hunt aimed at smearing him and devaluing his electoral victory in the 2016 election. Only since it's not clear that's what it is, how can they 'report it?'

He's doing to the U.S. what he did to the USFL, Trump Shuttle and his Atlantic City casinos. Destroying it.
