New SCOTUS Judge II: The Wrath of Kavanaugh

I hope you understand that in 1863, the Democratic Party was the right wing of US politics, and Republican Party was progressive centrist?

It might also be worth noting that it's conservatives (yes, farmers are generally conservatives) who are the ones employing more than half of those illegal immigrants with farming jobs alone? And that the states that tend to be more protective of them being allowed to work while illegal tend to be red states?

On a similar note, Nunes' family farm is reported to be employing illegal immigrants.

yes, we are aware - that is why it is ridiculous to claim that Obama was left-wing.

But the Obama administration didn't rip families apart or deny due process the way Trump is doing - with glee.

He ******* knows and so does his buddy Judge.
I haven't ruled that out either but I'm not convinced of it. I believe the GOP wanted to get the confirmation done because it was afraid what might turn up in other areas. They were probably also afraid that the 100,000 pages in documents related to Kavanaugh might leak (Bush favored turning over all but 27,000 pages). Whatever the truth of the alleged assault, IMO there were other aspects that warranted a more thorough background check.

I wouldn't normally be that interested in a nominee's drinking history and underage behavior, but his lack of candor before the committee was a big red flag.

Uh, are you aware that Obama deported more people than any other president?
Pssssttt... Just to let you in on a little secret...

No, he didn't.

From: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/obama-deported-more-people/
Statistically, more people were deported from the U.S. during the administration of President Barack Obama than during that of any other president....However, that statistic is somewhat misleading, as a significant portion of it was due to a change in the way “deportations” are defined...if not for that change in definition about what constitutes a “deportation,” the Obama administration likely would not have been a record-setting one in this area...

You're right it wasn't even close to being proven. Only a complete idiot ignorant of facts would assert such nonsense.

This Professor from the University of Ottawa basically dismantles Ford's pathetic shtick and the SJW, men hating institution she belongs to.

Why exactly should anyone care what this woman has to say?

She's an English professor... i.e. she's not a legal professor, nor does she seem to have any background in psychology, politics or any other area of relevant expertise. As such, her "opinions" offer no more value to the discussion than any layperson.

I listened to part of her video. She just seemed to be re-hashing the same bunk that the rape apologists in the republican party have been offering. And bunk is bunk, even if you happen to find someone who happens to have different genitals than the perpetrator.

In Kavanaugh news, theres this.

Brett Kavanaugh just hired the Supreme Court's first all-women law clerk team

Why exactly do you think that's important? Do you somehow think that his willingness to hire women as law clerks means that he's actually pro-women's rights?

There are several reasons he may have decided to hire women... Perhaps its an extension of his sexism. (As another poster has pointed out, his past history shows that he likes to hire women who "look like models".) Or perhaps its pure window dressing, a way that he can get the gullible and feeble minded to think "he's really not anti-women" while he goes about removing women's rights.

Whether he actually is in favor of women's rights will not be indicated by who he hires, but how he rules on the supreme court. If, in a decade or so, he has shown that he is actually unbiased, and actually acts to uphold things like abortion rights, then perhaps I will admit that maybe he's not as bad of a supreme court as I was expecting. (Still a horrible human being, but not as as bad as a judge.) But until then, I'm certainly not going to be giving him any applause just because he happened to hire women.

Giving a job to someone with an XX chromosome doesn't excuse attempted rape.

Trump apologises to Kavanaugh over 'unfair' treatment

As the White House ceremony got under way on Monday, Mr Trump said: "On behalf of our nation, I want to apologise to Brett and the entire Kavanaugh family for the terrible pain and suffering you have been forced to endure."

And he decried a "campaign of political and personal destruction based on lies and deception", adding that "under historic scrutiny", he had been "proven innocent".

To be fair, victims sometimes are wrong when identifying their aggressor. The problem is that "sometimes" becomes an excuse to ignore the victim altogether.

It's even more insulting to say she did not know him, that is that they had not met. The two schools had interaction and the FBI should be able to determine some of the people involved were known to go to parties together. It's harder with boys' and girls' separate prep schools. But for instance, did their two families have memberships to the country club where she swam earlier that day?

And they say Trump never apologizes.

What a rotted-out man.

"As soon as the Dems take a majority back we're gonna...."

Do nothing. That's how that sentence ends. You're gonna do nothing. Because if you lock a Democrat in an empty room he's gonna find a way to get filibustered by his own necktie. If Congress all jumped out of a plane while Democrats where pushing "We need to find the ground" legislation, they would miss the ground.

There could be a 100% Democratic Senate, House, Presidency, SCOTUS, Every Governorship, Every State House Seat, Every State Senate Seat and the only Republican left in the county was a third assistant muskrat wrangler in Dishrag County, West Virginia and the Democrats would still find a way to be a milquetoast floor-mat to him while he walks all over them while he somehow passes more legislation then they do.

I don't know about the with glee part but I personally know a family that was ripped apart and the wife deported under the Obama administration. I am sure there were many other cases also.

I see nothing wrong with the apology. I feel some of the questioning was out of line. The proven innocent statement was just wrong.

It should be noted that dozens of corroborating witnesses were not interviewed in the "investigation."

Bart was also not interviewed to shield him from telling lies to the FBI.

Zzzzzz...

We have been Ford's list, it is made up of people she talked to decades after the alleged event, i.e. not corroboration.

The drunk girl had a list of people she thought "might" provide corroboration.

so fail.

It also doesn't make them guilty due to uncorroborated allegations. No court would dare touch the Ford issue. Everyone knows this. Yet here we have liberals everywhere smearing a mans name based on accusation alone. Remember this when it comes back on democrats. Remember how eager so many where to label this man without any proof. (including yourself above) If you think it's bad he hired women, that's on you.
