I see you skipped on AC's explanation that we're talking about silly teens. Unwanted teen pregnancies might just destroy their lives way before they're old enough to think these things through. That's why focusing on prevention is an actual good idea.

Yeah but when we say "lose consciousness" that's not usually what we mean. We mean pass out. A black out is essentially just a lack of memory of the event.

Allow me to help you out, here: he doesn't have any response to what you posted, so he looked for something to discredit it. He looked at your profile and saw that you weren't in the US, and thought that was a very clever way to dismiss you.

Except that you're putting ideology over reality. Your principle above is laudable and makes sense, but in the real world sometimes it just doesn't work as it does on paper. You know, like communism.

Real solutions have to deal with real problems, not just those that sound great at a rally.

It might also serve you well to know a little of my past. I went to elementary school in a really nice neighborhood called college park in GA. I lived near the intersection of godby road and old international in some apartments called biscane bay. (look them up) and went to elementary school at Josephine Wells. If you think this is a white picket fence and 2½ kids story you're way off. My mom was a single mom that raised two kids on a school teachers salary in a very poor neighborhood.

Also, I'm now a single parent myself of two children. (Their mom died in 2011 of cancer) Try again.

I receive no welfare benefits, and neither did my mom growing up. If I can do it -- why can't anyone else?

We hear claims about how women regret having an abortion. Yet, no one talks about how women regret giving kids up for adoption. But we know they do - how many try to find their adopted kids?

It's not like giving kids up for adoption is easy, either.

Then perhaps their parents should teach them about the consequences of unprotected sex, or put them on birth control. It's not up to the state to do so. (also depending on the state and age of the "kid" may not legal for them to be having sex) The left always wants to make it easy for people to have sex, even kids. This is a bad practice. (imho)


Can you show me official studies that show having sex at an early age is good for you in some way? (because I'm going to take a wild guess and say youll have a hard time supporting that with factual evidence)

Can we discuss Kavanaugh now, or do you insist on sticking to this topic?

On that note, how many here feel Kavanaugh will help reverse any roe vs wade decision? (when he's stated he wont)

I had a mate at Uni (doing Physics - I was doing Chemistry) who was firmly of the belief that everyone had the same ability and if you couldn't do maths / physics / chemistry / whatever, it was because you were lazy. He absolutely would not accept that some people find certain things harder than others - 'They're just not trying hard enough'. I tried pointing out that he couldn't eg draw, was average at sport etc to highlight that people have different abilities but his view was that if he'd wanted to develop those he could have. To a (very limited) extent he was right in that I'm sure you can get better at something but he would not accept that some people will be naturally more gifted than others in certain fields - even when I pointed out genetic variance etc. Fascinating resistance to logic from an otherwise decent scientist.

I knew what he was talking about. It seemed pretty factual.

Like so much of what gets said about political issues it had a partisan spin on it, but it wasn't just made up.

I had the same delusion when I was a teenager because I was always around smart people due to my schooling. Then I joined the military and found out that some people just aren't very smart. It doesn't mean they are less of a person, or unworthy of respect.
