The Behavior of UK Police officers.

I am doing a job in Preston next week. Thanks for the heads-up about it being a no-go zone.
I completely failed to notice last time I was there.

Pure speculation here, but I wonder if it's possible the overestimations have to do with a combination of the ladies' distinctive dress and their tendency to travel in groups. I rarely see an Arab/Muslim woman in traditional dress alone, presumably due to cultural/religious imperatives.

Most Muslims aren't Arab; "traditional dress" varies widely, even if it is actually worn. A lot of Muslim women I've worked with wear the same clothes as everyone else, without even a headscarf, and don't seem to have a problem coming to work on their own.

Certainly from surveys in the UK it would seem that the people who over-estimate the most actually live in areas where there is hardly any significant immigration, Muslim or otherwise. This is reflected by UKIP polling better in the areas with the least immigration than in those with the most, even though the latter in itself would not explain such a market difference in itself.

Perhaps people have a hard time comprehending that, say, 51% of terrorist fatalities post-9/11 originate from 1% of the population. I imagine if you asked them what percentage of the population are Hindus they'd reply, "What? We have Hindus living here?" You're right, it is revealing.

I understand all that. All I'm suggesting is that apart from racist paranoia - which is obviously in play - it's possible that because people see apparent Muslims in groups, they may extrapolate that to think there are more of them generally.

Personally, I think it's irrelevant nonsense to worry about it, but I'm neither paranoid nor racist.

Indeed, which my kids noticed when pretty young at secondary school - their (rural) current/former is school very ethnically homogeneous, and they said that was a lot of ill-informed fear of all immigrants by certain groups of more insular families in the area.

A lot are farmers who voted for Brexit, and are starting to worry that wasn't very sensible.

It's pretty hard to think of Muslims as particularly scary when you have colleagues who might pray five times a day, but also have photos of their kids by their desks, and eat lunch with you most days (except during Ramadan)
 
I hear that certain religious groups that are involved with sexual exploitation of children have succeeded in making part of central Rome a no-go zone where Italian Police can only enter with the permission of religious leaders. Apparently they think that they should not be subject to secular law where it conflicts with their religious beliefs.

I'm getting tired of the "apathy is a virtue" sermon. Even the "good muslims" demand political representation. They bring their style of politics into your country. Democracy can't work in a "multicultural" society as it just becomes a racial head count. Labour will continue to bend over backwards to get the "oppressed minorities" vote while disaffected whites will vote Tory but will quickly learn Tories don't have the backbone to stick up for white interestes.

So sorry, I know you've been heavily conditioned but being apathetic about bringing people into your country en masse who want to usurp your way of life is not virtuous. It is not noble. It is not something to admire. You have every right to defend your political interests, your way of life.

Evil Shariah Rapist Invaders didn't actually invade as much as they were let in by childless EU leaders who have a bizarre, twisted fantasy of making Europe a "multicultural utopia." You should always oppose those who want to shape the world in their image regardless of "what side" of the political aisle you're on.
