"Just a thought......If Christine Ford declines to be interviewed Monday.... I’m available to answer questions about my Rape by Bill Clinton."
-- Juanita Broaddrick (Sept 19, 2018)

I suspect Keith Ellison's ex-girlfriend (Karen Monahan) is also willing to testify under oath on Monday if Christine Ford pulls a no-show.

IS Clinton up for SCOTUS then?

Oh, and re the "oreo" thing, it seems to me that if absolutely everybody from every corner of the political spectrum is telling you that you've said something racist, then you have 3 options:

1) double down
2) ignore them
3) reflect that if everybody's saying it that maybe they have a point, no matter what your intentions were, and that maybe you ought to modify your behaviour in the future.

1 & 2 do not seem to me to be the most constructive or grown-up of approaches.

Looks like the White House got to work on the incompetent smear of a middle school teacher pretty quickly.

On Sunday, Ford noticed that — even before her name became public — Whelan appeared to be seeking information about her.

That morning, Ford alerted an associate via email that Whelan had looked at her LinkedIn page, according to the email, which was reviewed by The Post. LinkedIn allows some subscribers to see who views their pages. Ford sent the email about 90 minutes after The Post shared her name with a White House spokesman and hours before her identity was revealed in a story posted on its website.

Seems like there are numerous more witnesses that should be called than just Ford and Kavanaugh. It's almost like they are interested in an honest investigation.

The Presumption of Guilt

The Democratic standard for sexual-assault allegations is that they should be accepted as true merely for having been made. The accuser is assumed to be telling the truth because the accuser is a woman. The burden is on Mr. Kavanaugh to prove his innocence. If he cannot do so, then he is unfit to serve on the Court.

Democrats claim that even asking questions about the facts is somehow an unfair attack on her as a woman. Her lawyer is demanding that Ms. Ford testify after Mr. Kavanaugh, and that only Senators ask questions—no doubt to bar Republicans from having a female special counsel ask those questions.

We’re told Ms. Ford even wants to bar any questions about why she waited so long to recall the alleged assault and who she consulted in finally going public this year. Such a process is designed to obscure the truth, not to discover it.

Wall Street Journal (Editorial Board) (Sept 22, 2018)

The new liberal standard, guilty until proven innocent.

What was the standard for Al Franken? The accusations against him lost him his job. What's being requested here is a proper investigation - of the kind that took 3 days the last time one happened. So I assume that there's a contemporary editorial expressing the same opinion about the Republican reaction to the accusation against Franken, right?

Grassley extended the time for a response until today, dunno what time.

Because setting deadlines is bullying or some next level bull ****.

Oh well

There'll be a bottom at some point, right?

A press adviser helping lead the Senate Judiciary Committee’s response to a sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has stepped down amid evidence he was fired from a previous political job in part because of a sexual harassment allegation against him.

Garrett Ventry, 29, who served as a communications aide to the committee chaired by Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, had been helping coordinate the majority party's messaging in the wake of Christine Blasey Ford’s claim that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her 36 years ago at a high school party. In a response to NBC News, Ventry denied any past "allegations of misconduct."

After NBC News raised questions about Ventry's employment history and the sexual assault allegation against him, Judiciary Committee Spokesman Taylor Foy replied in a statement: "While (Ventry) strongly denies allegations of wrongdoing, he decided to resign to avoid causing any distraction from the work of the committee."

Wow, yet another Trump associate abusing women. Rather an impressive pattern. So yeah, I think Kavanaugh raped the **** out of that poor (at the time) girl. The sick **** probably put it on his resume to Trump as a selling point. When you surround yourself with people who beat and/or sexually assault women, it's not hard to believe it when yet another person in your orbit is accused of sexually assaulting women.

Who is on trial?

Keith Ellison?

It hasn't gone to trial yet, the investigation is still ongoing. However, Ellison claims his accuser fabricated the story.

Senators Mazie Hirono, Dianne Feinstein, Kamala Harris, and Kristen Gillibrand were unavailable for comment.
