No surprise here. Trump thinks the world should be his to use however he sees fit.

"Tariffs have put the U.S. in a very strong bargaining position, with Billions of Dollars, and Jobs, flowing into our Country - and yet cost increases have thus far been almost unnoticeable. If countries will not make fair deals with us, they will be “Tariffed!”
“A lot of small & medium size enterprises are registering very good profit, sometimes record profits-there stocks are doing very well, low income workers are getting big raises. There are an awful lot of good things going on that weren’t during Pres. Obama’s Watch.” Peter Morici
"Our Steel Industry is the talk of the World. It has been given new life, and is thriving. Billions of Dollars is being spent on new plants all around the country!"
Bolding mine...Grrrrr! Pet peeve. Not that I expect high standards of English from Trump!
What Trump is describing is literally bank fraud - if we can find evidence for this, he could go to prison.
Unless of course the charges are at the state level.Well, only if he wants to go to prison.
He has the power to pardon himself.
I just finished Fear the new Woodward book. It's not an exaggeration to say that there's been an administrative coup in the Whitehouse. There's the president and the administration and the administration is, with a couple of exceptions working against the president. Given that the president is not just clearly incapable of governing, he is clearly incapable of understanding the issues he needs to make decisions about, the administration really doesn't have a choice; they have to subvert the president.
My feelings go back and forth on this. That sucks to see in a democracy. However, nothing about the office exempts it from the social science of management.
That was the one thing that kept me from supporting Term Limits, but now the craven behavior of the GOP congress in failing to carry out their basic duty of acting as a check to Presendential power has convinced me that we can afford a little greed a lot more then seeing our system of check balances go down the tubes because you want a lifelong career as a Congressman. I think we need to take away that option.
Also: what I had in mind was not laws or policies that are obviously contrary to basic decency or values or morality. What I had in mind was those liberals who favor not enforcing basic immigration laws, the kind that most (any?) country has. It seems that liberals support immigrants sometimes to the detriment of enforcement of basic immigration laws. Even Obama enforced immigration laws (I think he deported more undocumenteds than Bush-43 did).

Yep and standing up to assylum seekers is part of it. That proud moment when FDR stood up to Hitler and said "No we will not take your jews, they are your problem and you have to find your own solution to it" That is a proud moment for the rule of law.
They do have a choice - invoke the 25th Amendment, or quit.
It might be argued that incumbents have an advantage when it comes to re-election, and thus a vested interest in not 'rocking the boat', and thus will be less likely to provide any sort of balance to a president who has gone off the deep end. With term limits, you will constantly be bringing in new people; if you don't have an incumbent hanging around, you'll get more turnover and more upsets, resulting in more challenge to presidential authority.Would it help though? The people Trumpism has driven out of congress are not exactly standing up to him. No, although those truly are choices available to them, they do also have the choice to do exactly what they are currently doing, and face the consequences (if there will be any).
Well, if he put you in harm's way, isn't that immoral? I'd say you could at least make a good case for that.
