Unless, of course, one can. I deliberately use "I could care less" to mean "I care significantly." But I only do this with friends who think it's funny.

Pedantic nerd.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

It's couldn't care less.

I see you're in the US. I'd heard so many Americans say "could"(which as you say makes no sense in that context) that I'd assumed it was the accepted usage in the US.

Why do we have to go over this again and again? Do you all just forget how you were wrong and start over?

To repeat: It's a tactic. They know if they continue to repeat a story or allegation, despite it having been proven false, a certain percentage of the faithful will believe it anyway.

As demonstrated in this very thread, the strategy works.

Sad! ;)

I want it to be a scam, so I choose not to see evidence that it is a scam?

Truth be told, I could care less. I only brought it up because some of you here seem to think Hillary etal are so virtuous. They aren't, and that's part of why she lost the election.

It seems that agreeing to disagree is an endangered species here on this forum.

I'm not a rabid Trump supporter. I agree that he should shut his trap and be more compassionate about certain things. I agree that he often opens his mouth and inserts his foot too often. But I don't care about Stormy Daniels and Avenatti, I don't care about the minutia that people are clamoring about,

But this forum (in general) displays so much hatred for the man that I wonder if some of you aren't kicking your dog, punching your computer screens and jumping up and down ranting around in your house with steam pouring out of your nostrils while posting here.

That said, have a nice labor day weekend.

Bull Crap.

You point to a perfectly legitimate charity and search for hit job articles produced by political opponents and say 'see, Hillary isn't so virtuous'. Hillary's not perfect. But she's been an honest dedicated public servant her entire life. Was she ambitious? No doubt.

You are right about my hatred towards Trump.i despise the man. If you said to him that he would be shot the first time he told a falsehood, the man would be dead within an hour. Same thing would be true if with the same ultimatum was for refraining from bragging or insulting someone.

Now think about that. We've made President a man totally devoid of principles. Pretty damn sad.

Also, let's not forget his attack on the rule of law and the inhuman tactic of separating children from theur parents.

I think these are very good reasons to not liking someone.

Obvious missed word is obvious. It was a mildly amusing missed word, of course, though context kept the intended meaning clear.

Truth be told, I could care less. I only brought it up because some of you here seem to think Hillary etal are so virtuous. They aren't, and that's part of why she lost the election.

Eh... As I've said to a number of Trump voters, I don't blame them for not liking Hillary. There are a number of quite valid concerns that can be raised about her and her doings. The really annoying thing, though, is that almost all the actual criticism of her that I hear from them is much like the criticism that you raised. Utter and complete BS that should never have entered the discussion in the first place. The kind of BS that pretty much forces anyone rational and informed on the topic to "defend" her, further reinforcing the "think she's so virtuous" perception in those who want to drag her down and making those forced to defend her end up with a more positive impression of her as backlash. So, seriously, quit it. Use valid and rational criticism, please, if you want to make a point.

It seems that agreeing to disagree is an endangered species here on this forum.

 We can certainly agree to disagree when it comes to opinions. That doesn't grant free leeway to get away with horribly misrepresenting fact.

I'm not a rabid Trump supporter. I agree that he should shut his trap and be more compassionate about certain things. I agree that he often opens his mouth and inserts his foot too often. Some degree of hounding about minutia is to be expected, honestly, and both can and should be filtered out. Covfefe was a nothing story. Tan suit gate was a nothing story. Stormy Daniels/Avenatti is scandalous, yes, but there's actually some meat to that matter. Violations of actual law are things that very certainly should be addressed, regardless of who did them. The very likely violation of the law there is just another in the seemingly ever increasing litany of cases of law breaking that Trump and those around him engaged in.

But this forum (in general) displays so much hatred for the man that I wonder if some of you aren't kicking your dog, punching your computer screens and jumping up and down ranting around in your house with steam pouring out of your nostrils while posting here.

Thank you for the amusing overly dramatic description. With that said, though, quite seriously, imagine a scenario where you caught a person robbing you, smearing feces all over things that you loved, and telling you that you should be praising him for doing so, what would your reaction to this person be?

That said, have a nice labor day weekend.

You, too!

Seth Abramson thread on the Papadopoulos sentencing memo and the revelations in it

The main one being that if Papadopoulos's testimony is truthful, then Sessions has committed perjury.

The Daily Kos has an article on that, too... and it's worth noting that if Papadopoulos is telling the truth about that, there's more than just Sessions committing perjury in play of importance. Not much that would be surprising news, of course, so much as confirmation of what's been sitting in plain sight pretty much all along.

Of course, there's also gems from the Daily Kos article like -

So then he frantically communicated with his new Russian friends to set up the meeting. The jokes write themselves with lines like this:

To say George was out of his depth would be a gross understatement. Despite being a young energy policy guru, he had no experience in dealing with Russian policy or its officials.

I need to add here that naive, clueless young George got a bachelor’s degree in political science then went on to study public policy, international law and national security to obtain a masters in security studies.

To "narcissist", "dolt", "man-child", "misogynist", homophobe" and "racist" we can now safely add "delusional".

Sounds like the chat with Mueller would be a walk in the park.

Suddenly I'm picturing Trump as Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now, announcing this over the radio.

Information about what?
I notice Trump's no longer pretending that Steele made the dossier up.
