In the District of Columbia, Manafort is scheduled to go on trial in September on charges including conspiracy to defraud the United States, failing to register as a foreign agent, money laundering, witness tampering and making false statements....

In the D.C. trial, Manafort may face an even taller stack of evidence. In a court filing Thursday, Manafort’s defence lawyer, Kevin Downing, said the special counsel’s office has sent him “well over 1,000 proposed exhibits — most of which have not been a part of the trial before Judge Ellis,” for review ahead of the September trial in the District.

So, I imagine Trump groupies won't give a rip about these tax cheats underreporting their taxable incomes by millions of dollars.

And I'll bet dollars to donuts all the Trumps and Kushners underreport their incomes by millions as well.

That in addition to money laundering which is Manafort's next trial.

I am looking forward to the Trumpies claiming that because he was not convicted on all counts, this is somehow a victory for Manafort and Trump.

And what's amazing is that I just had a discussion on reddit where a Trump follower tried to argue that since all three had been convicted of dishonest practice practices, that's a sign that Mueller has no case because "all his witnesses are liars".

As a guy that has a felony, I can't even imagine having to face 8 without a single plea bargain in place. Granted Ellis is a miserable **** and will probably take it easy on him, but even easy is at least a decade in the pen.
 
will he have to go to jail before the next trial starts? Oh, wait.. he's already in jail, right? I can't keep up.
 
The spin has started already. Giuliani on Cohen's guilty plea:

"There is no allegation of any wrongdoing against the President in the government's charges against Mr. Cohen....."

Correct, Rudy. But note that's in the charges against Cohen. It is Cohen admitting he was acting illegally in coordination and direction of a candidate for federal office. Gee, now just who could that candidate be? HMM?

What I want to know is how many jurors were against or for conviction on those counts. If it was one or two holdouts against convicting him and i was with the prosecution I would make it known we will retry. Sort of a we're not satisfied approach. Keep the pressure on.

I'm not in disagreement. I just want to counter the constant drone from the other side, including Trump's first comment off the plane, that there's no evidence of collusion just because Mueller hasn't shared it with the public yet.

Jonathan Turley on Fox is actually reporting if Cohen was guilty of campaign finance law violation then Trump is.

But they still have a commenter on saying some people disagree the payments to Daniels and McDugal were illegal. Cohen was just convicted of a crime some people on Fox claim isn't a crime.


Trump just got his distraction, they found the body of Mollie Tibbetts the college student who disappeared 5 weeks ago and an illegal immigrant is suspected. :rolleyes:

Manafort has a trial on different charges staringt next month. I think the Prosecution is going to concentrate on those.
