Cont: Breaking: Mueller Grand Jury charges filed, arrests as soon as Monday pt 2

Whose security clearance will Trump revoke to divert attention from the Cohen guilty plea?

I suspect he'll find something besides the security clearances thing -- that isn't selling well. I'm hoping he'll fire Sessions, take over the job and arrest Omarosa himself.

Rumors are the Manafort jury is about to return a verdict.

My prediction: they find him guilty on most things, not guilty on maybe a charge or two, and Trumpets call the guilty charges irrelevant ("it's not collusion" and "has nothing to do with Trump") and pretend the not guilty verdict(s) vindicate everyone.

In all fairness, ABSOLUTELY NONE of the charges are about collusion. It's about tax evasion and bank fraud. It neither incriminates nor does it vindicate anyone else.

And with the recent news, conviction has gone up to 99 cents, while convictions on 11-20 charges has reached 62 cents, and 6-10 charges has jumped to 53 cents a share.

There seem to be 2 realistic possibilities:
1) the jury is obsessively conscientious;
2) they've voted to convict on some counts and acquit on other counts.

I'd have trouble believing that they would all agree that the evidence did not support a conviction on all but 1 count and be disagreeing over the remaining count (unless it was the most trivial of all the charges). And I think a lot of juries would feel that they had done their job if they convicted on 17 out of 18 counts and acquit on the remaining count so that they could go home. But I've been wrong before.

I heard a legal analyst talking about the the charges against Manafort and while he said that it really was a slam dunk on most of the charges, he discussed two in particular that he could imagine Manafort being acquitted on. I don't remember which two and why. Oh well.

My suspicion is that some of the early charges and convictions, possibly including Manafort, are going to establish key facts and relationships which will eventually be brought up again as part of the evidence in charges of things like conspiracy and obstruction against members of the Trump campaign farther down the line.

So to say they're not "about collusion" may be a bit premature.

Flynn's sentencing was pushed back another month today presumably due to his continued co-operation as part of his plea agreement.

ETA: Manafort has another trial for totally different crimes in a couple weeks as well.

Cohen pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance laws with the Stormy Daniels hush money.

ETA: Said that he violated the law at Trump's direction.

That's probably all true, but the charges weren't about that. The jury was merely deciding on whether Manafort had been hiding foreign bank accounts, committing bank fraud and tax evasion.

But I believe they have established in these charges that Manafort was receiving money from known surrogates of Putin's circle to do work supporting their interests.

My suspicion again is that now that these payments have been established, we may hear later about other communications between the Trump campaign and some of these established Russian agents.

We may also hear more about this laundering. Early in the Manafort drama, it was established that his money laundering was done using property purchases, one of which seemed to be a Trump property which was not charged in this round. My thought is that the established mechanics of Manafort's money laundering will come up later both as laundering charges for Trump or others and as part of the puzzle showing the relationship between Trump and these oligarchs.

Specifically, the tax evasion charges establish in the public record the payments from the Russian backed government, and the Bank Fraud charges establish his property shenanigans. I would be surprised if those aren't referenced in the future.

You know what will be said off the record to Manafort:

"If you cooperate with the Mueller Investigation, it will be taken into consideration at your sentencting.
