Generally, a competent president will allow the security clearances of key individuals from previous administrations to continue, since it gives the current members of the administration more ability to consult with their predecessors should the need arise.

At best, Trump's move is a waste of time (since Brennan probably wasn't consulting with the Trump admin anyways). At worse, it eliminates a potential resource that could be used should the need arise (potentially harming the country).

So why was it done? Ending security clearance doesn't erase Brennan's memory, and its not like he would have been involved with the Trump administration anyways, so there is no benefit. It appears that its just a case of poor old trump having his feelings hurt because Brennan said mean things about him. Trump.... what a snowflake.

Trump is such a wimp. Absolutely, cannot take criticism of any kind. But the really dumbass aspect of the move is it is not likely to stop or slow criticism from Brennan.

In fact, his actions only hurt himself and possibly the nation. Brennan regardless of his personal opinion of Trump is a patriot and would set aside any animosity he might have of Trump in a microsecond if Trump or any other member of the administration called on him to help them in any way. This is what you do for country.

Institutional memory is invaluable and DJT needlessly squandered some.

Thanks, I appreciate it. One of my goals is to remind people of facts that they probably forgot, so when they are talking to their loved ones about issues (like pulling the security clearance) they KNOW that Brennan was a scumbag.

Unbelievable is the idea that your outrage towards Brennan has ANYTHING to do with those events when in reality it is only partisan support of Trump.

What makes Brennan a patriot is 25 years serving the country in the CIA through 4 administrations. I can certainly point to actions by the CIA during that time I didn't like, but I do not doubt for one second Brennan's patriotism.
