Not exactly a complete hoax.

It is true... Trump didn't pose for pictures with a biker with nazi tatoos. However, there was a picture (not posted by Trump) of a biker with both a pro-Trump patch on his jacket and a nazi tatoo.

While it doesn't necessarily show Trump himself being supportive of the neo-nazi movement (for that you have to go to his statements about nazis being "fine people"), it does show how the Trump administration and its message does resonate with neo-Nazis.

Sure, his base would love it. My hope is that, while the base will eat it up, support among less racist Republicans will waver. I'm not expecting large swaths of voters to switch to the Democratic party, but hopefully it will depress turnout and voting enthusiasm among those who don't want to associate openly with the alt-right.

And if it doesn't, then our country's current nightmare continues. I don't want to consider that.

I'm concerned the wavering may fall in the other direction.

Consider: Free Trade such as NAFTA was the hill Republicans/Conservatives were willing to die on 5 years ago. Now, it's "Oh, wait, if Trump is against the free market then I'm going to abandon my previous position and follow."

My concern is that we're going to see fifty million "not-racists" flop over to "Oh, wait, if Trump is against equal rights for nonwhites then I'm going to abandon my previous position and follow."

Ordinarily, I'd agree with you. But hypocrisy and double standards are synonymous with this particular poster. He posts about counter protesters to ******* NAZIs. He attacked Avenatti with over 500 posts and yet ignored and ignores far worse behavior from Trump.

Seems like the best way to deal with that is to first agree that perpetuating the hoax was uncool and then also request that the poster himself demonstrate consistency in that regard?

That way the point is made without it being or even seeming like handwaving whataboutism.

So that's 2 sources saying there is or was an unreleased tape of Trump saying it, and 2 people who work or have worked for Trump secretly recorded as confirming he said it.

Then there's the claim made by Tom Arnold that he has a tape of Trump saying or doing something unsavory. Unless the 2 sources you're talking about are Omorosa and TA, and I missed something.

In this thread, you sarcastically asked another poster if he had clarified that his link turned out to be a hoax. I then asked if you had done the same regarding your link.

As for the rest of your post; a classic example of the "I've got nothing left" tactic of "the best defense is a good offense". It's one of Trump's favorites.
