There is an amazing lack of specificity regarding the Russian "meddling" (formerly "interfering" but withdrawn, presumably because we would be required to respond).

That's funny; most people were impressed by the amount of specificity in Mueller's 28 indictments of Russian agents, nationals, and businesses. Sounds like you need to catch up, because yes, a response is required.

Wouldn't it be too ironic if the shirts Trumpists are wearing proclaiming they'd rather be Russian than Democrat weren't dreampt up and printed by Russky ***** disturbers?

The news earlier today brought to light some of Pence's 1999 scribblings (while a radio host) about the importance of morals in a President, and that (s)he should be impeached when transgressing those morals. Ah, the amazing evolution in this man's outlook we behold, as he glories in his captain's squalid gutter-rolling.

Well... we already know that Pence is something of a representative figure for the GOP as it's become. Unprincipled, remarkably hypocritical about their application of morality, submissive to power, lies despite having hard evidence to the contrary on public record...

Trump is a wild monster. Pence is a more calculated monster.

Oh, and I actually expect that they weren't dreamt up by the Russians. They could have been, but I'm not sure if you grasp how badly the Democrats have been vilified, much less how much Russia's been rising in favorability to the right. All it took Russia to win a lot of them over was persecuting gays, praising guns, and praising conservative Jesus.

WTF?

Nothing specific? :boggled:
You gotta remember that for all their whining about "snowflakes", Trumpkins tend to be a vulnerable lot who lock themselves away in echo chambers where they are only exposed to Trump-friendly news and only talk to like-minded people. They also tend to be just as offended by criticism of Trump as they accuse a certain kind of liberals of being whenever their ideals are questioned.

They also tend to do their darndest to shut down discussions on Trump with whataboutisms, insults at liberals and "the MSM", link-spamming, and in general by trying to make as much noise as possible; and whenever I see people do this in discussions, be it by saying "but but big pharma", "but but israel" or "but but clinton", it tells me they are insecure and don't like having to actually stop and think about what they are really supporting, or how little factual/rational ground they have to stand on. Probably harsh, but it's my actual impression.

But these are things the MSM alt-media won't tell you because it would hurt their ratings and trigger the snowflakes trumpkins.

Jesus.

More to the point, he is one-third of an informal council that is exerting sweeping influence on the VA from Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump’s private club in Palm Beach, Florida. The troika is led by Ike Perlmutter, the reclusive chairman of Marvel Entertainment, who is a longtime acquaintance of President Trump’s. The third member is a lawyer named Marc Sherman. None of them has ever served in the U.S. military or government.

Yet from a thousand miles away, they have leaned on VA officials and steered policies affecting millions of Americans. They have remained hidden except to a few VA insiders, who have come to call them “the Mar-a-Lago Crowd.”

Perlmutter, Moskowitz and Sherman declined to be interviewed and fielded questions through a crisis-communications consultant. In a statement, they downplayed their influence, insisting that nobody is obligated to act on their counsel. “At all times, we offered our help and advice on a voluntary basis, seeking nothing at all in return,” they said. “While we were always willing to share our thoughts, we did not make or implement any type of policy, possess any authority over agency decisions, or direct government officials to take any actions… To the extent anyone thought our role was anything other than that, we don’t believe it was the result of anything we said or did.”

VA spokesman Curt Cashour did not answer specific questions but said a “broad range of input from individuals both inside and outside VA has helped us immensely over the last year and a half.” White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters also did not answer specific questions and said Perlmutter, Sherman and Moskowitz “have no direct influence over the Department of Veterans Affairs.”

It's freaking Versailles.

You can't make this **** up.

I found a tweet that I wanted to post, but now I can't find it.

Something along the lines of:
Trump: New steel plant in Pennsylvania. That's why those in Pennsylvania love me!
Some steel industry planning guy: Uh. Nope. No new steel plant.

I'll continue to look.

Americans are just too poor to afford safer and far less poisonous construction materials.

From the link:
According to Fast Company, the EPA’s recently released report detailing its new framework for evaluating the risk of its top prioritized substances states that the agency will “no longer consider the effect or presence of substances in the air, ground, or water in its risk assessments.”

That's a surprise. They actually made a package of asbestos even more disgusting and repulsive.

Trump was reportedly outraged that his wife was watching CNN on Air Force One, in violation of a rule that TVs have to be tuned to Fox News.

On the first couple’s recent trip overseas, Melania Trump’s television aboard Air Force One was tuned to CNN. President Trump was not pleased.

He raged at his staff for violating a rule that the White House entourage should begin each trip tuned to Fox — his preferred network over what he considers the “fake news” CNN — and caused “a bit of a stir” aboard Air Force One, according to an email obtained by The New York Times. The email, an internal exchange between officials in the White House Military Office and the White House Communications Agency last Thursday, also called for the ordering of two additional televisions to support Beam, a TiVo-like streaming device, to make sure the president and first lady could both watch TV in their separate hotel rooms when they travel.

At the end of the email chain, officials confirmed that tuning the TVs to Fox would be standard operating procedure going forward. On Wednesday, Mrs. Trump’s spokeswoman issued a statement to CNN saying that the first lady watches “any channel she wants.”
