Trump Tweets

"Democrats want Open Borders and they want to abolish ICE, the brave men and women that are protecting our Country from some of the most vicious and dangerous people on earth! Sorry, we can’t let that happen! Also, change the rules in the Senate and approve STRONG Border Security!"

A reworking of one of his golden oldies.

Back to California

Trump tweets

"California wildfires are being magnified & made so much worse by the bad environmental laws which aren’t allowing massive amounts of readily available water to be properly utilized. It is being diverted into the Pacific Ocean. Must also tree clear to stop fire from spreading!"

Isn't this just a repeat of yesterdays tweet?

Rosie O'Donnell is being interviewed on Ari Melber MSNBC. Everyone should watch this.

She has a very intelligent POV. She explained the nonsense that Trump has with his obsession with her.

When she was asked what should the press do: "Stop covering his rallies", "Walk out when Sanders [Suckabee] lies".

Moderately, yeah.

The "tree clear" still strike me odd though, never heard it (not like I pay much attention... I've always lived amongst the redwoods... there's too damn many as it is [emoji14] )

But I wonder if someone caught his attention and said "do not, do not say "clear cut" ". :D

It's summer. We always have reruns in the summer.

Now for the funny (or "ewww", depending)...
JUst read (and it's probably in the SBC thread as well) that Cohen got Sheriff Joe to say he'd probably let Trump blow him.

(After the pardon... Trump probably owes him a couple anyway. [emoji14] )

I am selective.

Posting the words of Trump in a thread about Trump on subjects being discussed in the thread is spam while the endless off topic bickering in the thread isn't?

Well, that's a novel take on things.

Ignore the two Grumpy McGrumpensteins. I appreciate seeing Trump's tweets without actually having to see his face.

Does the moron have ANY grasp of science or geography? Does'nt he get that flowing into the Pacific is what rivers on the West Coast do naturally?
If anything water is "diverted" into agriculture, etc. I am not saying this is bad,but this statement does show Donnie's a total ignoramus.

Yes. Especially on the coast where farmers down stream from the dam the cityslickers decided to build for their own municipal water supply had no choice but to sue (and win!) the right to use the water they had been previously using to irrigate their crops.

Surely, Trump isn't learning from history so much as stumbling into the same pattern.

He's really not a learner.

As his lawyers are learning to their chagrin. Can you imagine the panic every time Dolt 45 tweets outside their presence?

True, but the Pacific Northwest does not get as dry as Most of California does.
Depends on where in the PNW. Central Washington is an actual desert, made productive by irrigation made possible by the multitude of dams on the Columbia/Snake river system.

California has had designs on that water, too.

True. Eastern WA and eastern Oregon summers are very similar to S CA summers: hot and dry. That's why I live west of the Cascades, not east. But this summer is not much better this side of the mountains.

Here's another take on Trump's tweets about water in California. It comes from Devin Nunes.

https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/20...ire-twitter-mendocino-complex-carr-california

The problem of course is that it is NONSENSE and water issues have nothing to do with fighting wild fires.

Nunes has long been an advocate for farmers in the driest section of the valley. They basically irrigated a desert and now complain when climate change has made it harder to grow almonds. These farmers already get water delivered from hundreds of miles away. Already pumped so much water out of the ground that salt water intrusion has made the wells unusable. Still they are not satisfied.

Realistically these farms should be abandoned or switched to very low water crops but the farmers continue to bitch and moan wanting more, MORE, MORE!

Quick question: Governor Jerry Brown, who has been mentioned several times in the last few pages, is he the same Governor Jerry Brown from the Dead Kennedys song California Uber Alles released in 1979?

Has California had the same Governor for fourty years now?

Yes.

Easily answered with a quick google. From Wikipedia:

Edmund Gerald Brown Jr. (born April 7, 1938) is an American politician, author and lawyer serving as the 39th and current Governor of California since 2011, previously holding the position from 1975 to 1983, making him the state's longest-serving Governor. As a consequence of the 28-year gap between his second and third terms, Brown is both the oldest and sixth-youngest California Governor.
