It... looks like both could be completely accurate, as far as what they literally say. One just needs to ignore the obvious connotations.

Indeed, though, it's sad how much of a part that Trump's had to play in the events he's described.

He's hurt trade that much, eh? That's bearing in mind that that would be the difference, not the totals. The totals likely decreased very significantly more.

Economists that don't believe in the whole trickle down BS are saying because of the impending taxes tariffs, companies stocked up, thus falsely raising the GDP. Once Trump's ignorant taxes tariffs kick in, the rate will go down.

Reagan, at his lowest point ( which was now in # of days of presidency) was higher even with the induced recession the US was undergoing.

Nixon also had higher ratings at this point, also Bush 1. Only Ford was lower.

Also, the working class did buy a lot things with their tax cuts before inflation caught up with them, but that was also a one-time effect.

Unlikely. But this is the same thing that the GOP has done time and time again, lower taxes without paying for it. What it amounts to is injecting cash into the system. Then they bask in the wonderful economy. The bill comes due under the Democrats and they get blamed for the recession.

I saw a Repub. congressman call the last recession the "Obama recession" a couple days ago. I almost threw something at the TV. This lie was pushed by whack jobs like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh as early as Nov. 2008 when they blamed the stock market crash on then President-elect Obama. No wonder the right wingers love Trump; they live in his alternate reality with his alternate truths.

That he is psychologically unfit for the office of POTUS is clear to anyone whose head is not securely up their own covfefes. What is really scary, though, is how many people ignore this because he gives them what they really care about: a tax break and feeding their racism and bigotry.

What the effing eff.

ETA: There's so much wrong with that I don't know where to start. He says "reveals," so apparently the info being printed is true. He says telling the truth puts the lives of journalists at risk? Yeah, in Russia. Who are these other people whose lives are put at risk by the truth? And freedom of the press does not come with anything attached - it is pretty nearly absolute.

I would say this is becoming ridiculous, but that point was passed when Trump became a serious candidate. The shocking thing to me is that is the 'but, but, but, er' freedums!!' crowd is totally okay with (loving?) attacks on a free media by the head of state. :mad:

It fixes their cognitive dissonance. If they believe their lyin' eyes and lyin' ears, they'd have to believe that Trump is a lyin' , divisive, narcissistic, disaster of a POTUS who is unfit for the office. This way, it's not Trump, it's the lyin' media.
