After dating for just over two months, Idiot Trump Jr and former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle are reportedly engaged, even though Idiot Trump Jr still is not divorced from wife Vanessa.

Trump Jr is so creepy. I've noticed Guilfoyle's absence from Fox but I don't know if she's officially on hiatus.

Trump Jr Tweeted

"Incredible numbers, I remember when 'the experts' laughed about breaking 3 percent. Just because Obama never broke 2 percent doesn't mean that someone with great policies can't."

There were 15 quarters during Obama's presidency when the economy experienced 2 percent growth or higher, 2014 had 4.9 percent

Like father like son.

It's called True Love. You might wanna try it some time.

She will only be wife #2. Wife #3 should be "True Love" as we see with his role model daddy and Melania. Oh, wait....separate bedrooms, swipes away his hand in public...

There were 15 quarters during Obama's administration when GDP growth surpassed 2 percent, The Week noted on Friday.
There were eight quarters of growth of at least 3 percent, including three of 4 percent or better.

The highest GDP growth of Obama's presidency was during the third quarter of 2014, when it hit 5.2 percent.

Now exactly who is it that is spreading Fake News?
Donnie Jr. is, as Bugs would call him, a "maroon". The trouble with this is that Trump's supporters will believe this lie without question.

That seems like a non-sequitur.

It's never beneath me to go full pedantic.

My comment was play on, "We've always been at war with EastAsia" from Orwell's 1984. That quotation relates to Trumpists' bad memory, and a bad memory is required to suck down what Big Brother tells you, including who we are at war with.

Strained? I agree. Not funny? Modesty prevents me from disagreeing.

You know, I'm still amazed that (as far as the public knows) there is no one definite thing that confirms the collusion conclusion. That's why it's so ripe for conspiracy theory.
Latest example: The audio tape ends with them talking about (maybe no) cash, and a check. And the last sound is "Ch...". I will allow that the cutoff was done intentionally just to sow doubt and speculation. We're not even sure who said it.

It could be Candidate Trump saying "Check out this Diet Coke. It's flat!"

It's fun to speculate a little bit, but to come up with entire theories when someone (Mueller) actually does know the answer is a big waste of time.

True enough, for the specific charge.

The joke, although I don't find it particularly funny is Trump is no doubt guilty of all these crimes and probably dozens of other crimes. Definitely obstruction of justice, conspiracy, witness and even jury tampering.

Don Jr. should be convicted of lying to Congress. Sounds like David Pecker committed campaign finance violations.

Unfortunately, I am skeptical if anything will come of it.

Obscure. I wasn't clicking in that fast to Orwell. I keep meaning to read 1984 again. I know it fits much of what is going on right now . I sort of have to push myself to read anything dystopian as i get depressed easily.

A Republican President complaining about the obstruction of Democrats simply boggles my mind. Have American voters really forgotten how Obama struggled to get anything passed, and was disgracefully prevented from appointing a Supreme Court judge he had every right to appoint?

Who have we always been at war with?

That seems like a non-sequitur.
“The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.”

That was what Paul2 was referring to.

I thought that 'check' was a call for the bill.

I know what you mean. Which made my English Literature a bit of a drag.

Brave New World
1984
Lord of the Flies
and finally one with a more upbeat (relatively speaking) ending - the 6th Atomic War (IIRC) Farenheit 451

Also The Death of Grass - which I suppose was different as people weren't responsible for the dystopia.

I hear you. I was on holidays this past week and was reading Richard J Evans, The Third Reich in Power. When discussing Hitler and his propaganda theories, I found them so similar to Trump and his gaslighting that I got chills a couple of times reading it. This portion from the Wiki article on The Big Lie covers it well:

"His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it."

I read The Handmaids Tale recently as well. I used to think that things like Nazi Germany or Gilead could never happen in the modern world. I no longer cling to such naive delusions.

...That sounds like yet another count of potential Obstruction of Justice?

'Witness tampering' I think is the appropriate charge.

I think you guys are misreading that. Trump's attorneys are telling TRUMP to zip it. Nothing illegal about that; in fact it's excellent legal advice. Cohen should have been telling him that for years. Fortunately for us, Trump is constitutionally incapable of doing so.
