Cont: The Trump Presidency VIII

And a reminder that America's smallest president just doesn't like America's favorite President:

Trump leaves Obama out in the cold in SA
(South Africa)

The Citizen said:
‘Instructions by Washington’ were that no assistance other than security be given to the former US president – a break from diplomatic tradition.

The Mandela 100 commemoration became a mini battlefield in the ongoing US political war this week, as the Trump administration ordered that Barack Obama not be given any assistance other than security arrangements by the American embassy in South Africa.

The high-profile visit by the former president was mainly arranged and coordinated by the Nelson Mandela and Obama foundations, with no assistance from the US embassy in Pretoria – a break from the diplomatic tradition of offering support to any visiting American leader.

None of the US embassy staff had to play any role due to “instructions by Washington” that Obama should not be provided any assistance, according to a highly placed source at the embassy.

In the past, the US embassy has always provided full support to any visiting American leader regardless of party affiliation.

The new horror: Trumpers don't think Russia helped Trump, and also they are grateful to Russia for saving America from Clinton.

Several people pointed me to Jacob Wohl, a Trump booster with a large Twitter following, who had mused just hours earlier, “If Russia assists MAGA Candidates on the internet in this year’s midterms, that’s not the end of the world.” And others re-upped a C-span clip from the day before in which a caller identified as Mary Lou from Connecticut said, “I’ll try not to sound too awful, but I want to thank the Russians for interfering with our election to stop Hillary Clinton from becoming president. That woman has got illusions of grandeur.”

Mary Lou is afraid of a woman who has "illusions of grandeur" but votes for a pathological liar and malignant narcissist who thinks he's a "genius", has one of the "greatest memories of all time" and is the best/greatest at absolutely everything. Oh, the irony. And Mary Lou should at least learn it's "delusions" not "illusions. Sheesh.

“To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!” Trump tweeted.

Trump sounds like he has now decided which is the safest country to take out with nukes (Yay!), one his insane partner Netanyahu, who also needs to play villain for his base, is itching to bomb. Trump is sure to have heard just how effective declaring war is in getting unwavering support, and there is an election coming. A nuclear attack on Iran has a high probability of actually happening, as that is a war Trump can start from his bedroom, between tweets, with little prep or warning.

The United States of America would be the first nation in history to start an aggressive war using nukes, setting a precedent Hitler and Stalin could only envy. If and when, would not be at all surprised to see any protesting US citizens fired upon with live ammo, branded traitors by the dwindling press still allowed to publish, as armed hicks pour out of back hollers to terrorize city streets. Outright lynching would then likely make a swinging comeback across TruMerca, with gays and blacks being openly hunted. The march of jack boots will finally ring down Pennsylvania Avenue, just as Trump and his raving fanatics so desperately desire. Finally, payback for the true elite: people who can read and have an education; aka, sinful evolutionists.

Personally, I think (hope ?) that the chances of a US preemptive nuclear strike against Iran are close to zero. If I'm completely wrong and President Trump does authorise the use of nuclear weapons against Iran then we'll be presented with evidence that Iran were just about to start WWIII and that far from being an aggressor, the US was selflessly protecting the rest of the world.

Having said that, Iran is the "best" candidate for a strike. North Korea is protected by China but Iran is also hated by Russia. :(

Iran is also hated by Russia. :(

Sure about that?

https://thediplomat.com/2018/02/how-strong-is-the-iran-russia-alliance/

Even though the Russia-Iran alliance appears robust, both countries’ divergent strategic visions could render the partnership unsustainable in the long-term. To weaken the Russia-Iran alignment, U.S. officials should refrain from implementing overly hawkish retaliations to Moscow and Tehran’s destabilizing conduct, and look to expose cracks in the partnership through targeted diplomatic engagement with Russia. If U.S. policymakers implement this strategy, the Moscow-Tehran partnership could weaken considerably once military operations in Syria draw to a close, potentially strengthening Washington’s influence in the Middle East for years to come.

Do you know her?

I can't help it, it just plays in my head when I think of Trump believing he can do anything.
Know them? No. Seen them a couple dozen times back in the day.
But I can imagine her getting very pissed if say one of their songs had been chosen as one of Trump's rally anthems*. Actually... it's likely Ann would be up in his face. :D

And yes... I'm just yankin' your chain. ;)

(None were were they? I didn't track the list, but I know at least a few artists/groups were unhappy about his unauthorised use of songs he likes)

What, pray tell, did Iran say to prompt such a bit of shouty twit blather from Dear Leader?

Threatened to disrupt oil supplies by blockading tankers in the Straits of Hormuz if the USA forces other countries to re-apply sanctions.

Surely threatening another country with Nuclear War in the middle of the night is a violation of Twitter terms of use?

The replies to the tweet are full of Iranians posting taunting images of crying US sailors that were taken prisoner from the patrol boat that strayed in to Iranian waters.
They are accompanying them with what amounts to 'Bring it on' messages.
