This implies Trump thinks there exist courts who do, and should, have jurisdiction over sovereign countries, and can rule on, and against, contracts made between sovereign states.

What if UK decides to sue US over something, anything?

WTO?

Which did not turn out to be the bombshell it was painted as. What it neglects is that the Queen acts on advice when she exercises her powers, which actually makes those powers tools of the executive, not the monarch themselves.

We're not new to running a constitutional monarchy : we kinda wrote the book on it and worked out the kinks a long time ago.

Not directing these questions at you, CapelDodger. Just some thoughts I have from reading this side track.

If you switched to an elected head of state you could end up with someone like Trump. Is that something the anti-monarchists would see as a plus? The US president is very political. He is involved in politics in a very open and active manner. The US president contributes exactly nothing to the national treasury. All the money flows one way - toward the White House. Would an elected head of state provide a net plus the UK treasury?

Trump calls E.U. 'a foe,' claims 'nothing bad' to come from meeting Putin
"I think the European Union is a foe, what they do to us in trade," the president told CBS News.

The PDJT's been watching too much foe news.

"Heading to Helsinki, Finland – looking forward to meeting with President Putin tomorrow. Unfortunately, no matter how well I do at the Summit, if I was given the great city of Moscow as retribution for all of the sins and evils committed by Russia..."

"...over the years, I would return to criticism that it wasn’t good enough – that I should have gotten Saint Petersburg in addition! Much of our news media is indeed the enemy of the people and all the Dems..."

"...know how to do is resist and obstruct! This is why there is such hatred and dissension in our country – but at some point, it will heal!"

He's running them all in to one now.

"Congratulations to France, who played extraordinary soccer, on winning the 2018 World Cup. Additionally, congratulations to President Putin and Russia for putting on a truly great World Cup Tournament -- one of the best ever!"

The worst part is that he said the the EU was a foe before he said anything about Russia, who he referred to as a foe "in a sense". The EU is more of a foe, even after the 12 indictments have been announced? WTF???

EDIT:I just watched the clip again on CNN. To be precise, he said Russia was a foe "in certain respects".

Remember, Trump's definition of 'foe' is 'toward him', not toward the country.

Gotta be fake. It makes sense, proper grammar, proper punctuation. The real Donald Trump does not tweet like this.

I was laughing to my wife this morning as I read some recent tweets in order. You have a couple of whiney ones about CNN and electoral votes and sandwiched in between them is this perfectly written condolence message to victims of the flooding in Japan.

It's like an adult took the device away from a child briefly.

IIRC, he did actually play the game while at boarding school. Not American football, which is full of unpatriotic N-words.

It was determined a long time ago that tweets attributed to Trump come from two different devices, one for him to put up insane stuff, and one held by some grownup.

I can't even imagine the mental knots Trumpkins have to contort themselves into to justify this.

If Hillary had won, and her own party's DOJ/FBI were claiming Russia hacked the RNC to HELP her win, AND she calls the investigation against her a "witch hunt", AND she excessively praises Putin and antagonizes our allies at every turn AND days before she's to meet with Putin, the DEM special prosecutor reveals Putin hacked into state systems and stole info from half a million Americans, AND she STILL meets with Putin, and CONGRATULATES him on the World Cup???

She would have been impeached the next day- she would have been impeached long before this- and anyone who says so is lying or in denial or a moron.

This is what infuriates me about Trump supporters. The double standard is so blatant and so obvious, you just want to grab them by the shoulders and yell, "What's wrong with you!?!!?"

If his minders have to come out and escort him gently from the podium because he's repeating the same story for the third time there'll be no coming back from it.

He's been recycling the same three tweets for months.

I expect his handlers probably prefer it that way. The fewer new surprises the better.

"Like" an adult took it away?:D
