For me it's the way he drives his political opponents crazy. Granted, it's not a long trip, and it's a skill that most Presidents possess. Obama drove a lot of the people on the right crazy, Bush Jr., yeah, Clinton, sure Reagan and Nixon, definitely. The guys who don't drive the other side crazy (Bush, Sr., and Carter) are the one-termers.

You appear confused about Trump's role. This may help:

Trump Tweets

"These Russian individuals did their work during the Obama years. Why didn’t Obama do something about it? Because he thought Crooked Hillary Clinton would win, that’s why. Had nothing to do with the Trump Administration, but Fake News doesn’t want to report the truth, as usual!"
And with that Trump accepts that the Russian interference did happen. No witch hunt.

The question remains : why isn't the Trump Administration doing anything about it now, nor about preventing it in future?

Let's not discount Manafort. All three were familiar to the Russians, and would have come quickly to mind if and when the plot was first hatched.
I discount him only because he's not long time Trump inner circle. Manafort and Stone were long time business partners. I envision Stone as intermediary between Trump and Manafort on sensitive matters.

"Don't blame me for me, blame the black guy for me."

I'd have kept Trump well away from senstivie information myself. "Need to know applies", and there was no need for Trump to know what the grown-ups were arranging on his behalf. Stone, I assume, recommended Manafort as campaign leader, quite possibly at the behest of the Russians.

It'll all become clear in the season finale, I'm sure.

Trump may actually skate by this with plausible deniability, if everyone kept da boss out of the loop. Although since his son was receptive to Russian dirt, it's hard to imagine Trump didn't know about at least some of what was going on.

Trump was certainly brought in on the Trump Tower meeting in advance, and what was expected from it, and his response demonstrates exactly why he should kept out of the loop - he couldn't stop himself running off at the mouth about it. The man's a bloody infant.

Of course Trump knew about the meeting beforehand. Donnie Jr. doesn't fart without his father's knowing about it first.

I wonder if this investigation can be successful. It appears that the GOP/Trump are getting all the pieces in place to shut it down. They have Benchkowski installed to replace Rosenstein. They have a SCOTUS that is made of 5 loyalists. The House is doing their best to discredit the FBI. The House is also going to try to get Rosenstein impeached.

I expect that they could get Rosenstein impeached, since the GOP has a substantial majority hold on the House and only a simple majority is required to pass articles of impeachment.

The only thing stopping them would be the out-of-control level of pettiness and vindictiveness it would demonstrate on the part of the GOP, but today's Republicans don't seem to be very concerned about things like that. If anything their core constituency seems to thrive on it.

Convicting him in the Senate would be nigh on to impossible, since it requires a 2/3rds majority and I don't believe they could get that many Dem Senators to sign on with them.

Of course, there isn't any reason to think that the House GOP would view a certain defeat in the Senate as any sort of impediment to such an action.

It would help them in primaries, and that's their main worry.

Rosenstein made it blatantly clear 'Trump's not implicated'. Those of us still using our brains know the caveat, but the investigation isn't finished. But to Trump, those are "No collusion, Rosenstein said so" words.

Either Mueller on his own, or with Rosenstein, had to have consciously played the cards this way. One or both of them know exactly how to play Trump.

Would you do a signature or avatar bet on what will be alleged when the report is finished?

A short guide to the latest indictments:
It’s all right there in the indictment — day by day, hack by hack, theft by theft — how agents of the Russian intelligence service, the GRU, set out in the spring of 2016 to steal the election for Donald Trump. When you track the actions taken by Russian intelligence in the indictment with statements made by Trump and actions taken on his behalf by members of his campaign, the picture is as clear as an iPhone photo. Agents of the Russian government coordinated with members of the Trump campaign and took cues from Trump himself in order to influence the election of 2016.

Rosenstein's comment "think as Americans, not partisans" was very telling. What else could it mean, other than some very high-level people are going to be indicted?

It could simply mean that the investigation is being treated as a partisan issue and he doesn't want it to be. Seems a pretty obvious possibility.

Considering that there's a congressional candidate out there who asked for and received these stolen emails, the fact the investigation is still ongoing, Trump Jr's willingness to meet with Russians peddling dirt on Clinton, guilty people in Trump's orbit who are actively cooperating with Mueller, and the innumerable lies by Trump about all this...

I think it's a safe bet that high-level people are going to be indicted. Would you care to make a forum bet?

Oh, I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying that it's not the only possibility.

You would need to specify the bet more explicitly before I decide. Who counts as high level? And indicted for what? Does any indictment count, or do you mean an indictment specifically about helping Russia affect the election?

It's possible there's a teacup orbitting Jupiter. Obviously my point was I think there's no other plausible reason for why Rosenstein said what he said except that high-level people are going to be indicted.

"High-level" would refer to any officials currently serving in high office and/or members of the Trump family (a non-exhaustive list: cabinet members, Trump, senators, congressmen, governors). Any indictment that comes out of the Mueller investigation would suffice. It could be money laundering, lying to the feds, conspiracy, etc.

The DNC should be ashamed of themselves for allowing themselves to be hacked. They had bad defenses, and they were able to be hacked. I heard they were trying to hack the Republicans, too. But, and this may be wrong, but they had much stronger defenses.
I heard that they were trying, or people were trying, to hack into the RNC, too. The Republican National Committee. But we had much better defenses. I've been told that by a number of people. We had much better defenses, so they couldn't.

I bet Trump blames girls for being raped because they were wearing short skirts and walking in a bad neighborhood. What a putz.
