It was a fake, they didn't play it.

Damn. Would have been excellent...but too much to expect from a military band as they would be tightly controlled. Would be great if some local brass band did it though but he seems to be being kept well away from the public. Shame!

With Phillip it's probably just an unfortunate rement of how he was raised; with Trump it's a center point of his exsistence...

Why isn't it the same for Trump? Trump is a product of his upbringing and his mental issues just like Phillip is. Why is it acceptable/excusable for Mr W but not Mr T?

A local band would go with the Bennie Hill Show theme. Any sighting of him would be greeted with the Flash Harry them from the original St Trinians films.

Trump Tweets
"I have arrived in Scotland and will be at Trump Turnberry for two days of meetings, calls and hopefully, some golf - my primary form of exercise! The weather is beautiful, and this place is incredible! Tomorrow I go to Helsinki for a Monday meeting with Vladimir Putin."

"The Stock Market hit 25,000 yesterday. Jobs are at an all time record - and that is before we fix some of the worst trade deals and conditions ever seen by any government. It is all happening!"

Trump Tweets about CNN

"So funny! I just checked out Fake News CNN, for the first time in a long time (they are dying in the ratings), to see if they covered my takedown yesterday of Jim Acosta (actually a nice guy). They didn’t! But they did say I already lost in my meeting with Putin. Fake News......"

"....Remember, it was Little Jeff Z and his people, who are told exactly what to say, who said I could not win the election in that “there was no way to 270” (over & over again) in the Electoral College. I got 306! They were sooooo wrong in their election coverage. Still hurting!"

Probably because of the way racism manifests in both men. Granted we dont hear much about him on this side of the pond, but I havent sern constant tweets and speeches where phillip is trying to forment racism (unlike trump who constantly lies and associates minorities with crime, etc.)

What is idiot boy talking about? The bit about dumb **** not taking Acosta's question is front and center at the top of the CNN splash page.

Difference in opportunity - if Phillip was in a position in which he was allowed to express his views publicly how do we know he wouldn't act the same as Trump? Indeed given how he is meant to not express his views publicly and despite how much he is protected by "the establishment" it says a lot that we know so much of his bigotry.

The only thing we don't know is whether Phillip has mental illness problems like Trump - that could be a difference between the two men. There is an argument that we should be sympathetic towards Trump because of Trump's mental health issues.

Trump says the interview he gave to the Sun is 'Fake News' despite there being an audio recording of it.

That was such a weird incident. He said there was a recording to prove his version that he didn't dis May or whatever, and the recording says the opposite.

So does he believe his new version of reality or is he simply gas lighting because his followers will believe his version? We know he calls anything negative about himself fake news. I wonder at what point in this repeating process that reality changes for him?

Parallels

What Happens When a Bad-Tempered, Distractible Doofus Runs an Empire?

Kaiser Wilhelm II, German ruler from 1888 to 1918.

https://www.newyorker.com/culture/c...d-tempered-distractible-doofus-runs-an-empire

Gawd, when you put it that way.... :jaw-dropp

The parallels are frightening, especially this part:
More sinisterly, Wilhelm’s patronage of the aggressive, nationalistic right left him surrounded by ministers who held a collective conviction that a European war was inevitable and even desirable.

Damn. Would have been excellent...but too much to expect from a military band as they would be tightly controlled. ...

Too bad indeed.
Too much to hope I'm sure, that the next time Donny dragoons the Marine Corps band because his invited celebs don't want to be seen with him...
:D

He's trolling. Oh, and with a side of the disinformation that he's constantly pushing out.

The political operative Roger Stone has admitted he is “probably” the Donald Trump associate cited in a grand jury indictment as communicating with Russians who attacked the US presidential election in 2016.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...sia-indictments-robert-mueller-vladimir-putin

The stone sounds like a right piece of work: “Stone is a self-proclaimed “dirty trickster” who has a tattoo of the former president Richard Nixon on his back. “

Alright controversial opinion.

Yes you can (and should) argue that Trump was rude, unprofessional, and just being a general dickwad while meeting with Queen Elizabeth.

But any complaints that he "didn't follow Royal Protocol" can get take a flying **** at a rolling donut. The Queen of England doesn't get to set special rules (or have others set rules on her behalf) for how other heads of state have to act around her.

Trump should have treated her with a lot more basic respect and... just basic human interaction standards then he did but, and it pains me to say anything apologetic about Trump, him not following some subservient routine in body language and Royal Court procedures doesn't bother me in the least.

Trump is not a citizen of the British Empire. He is no more obligated to bow to the Queen then the Queen is to salute Trump for being Commander in Chief of the American Armed Forces.

TL:dr - I'm as mad as everyone at him not treating her with the respect due another head of state, but that's it. He had every right to act around, talk to, interact with, and maintain the same poise and body language with Queen Elizabeth as he does with every other foreign head of state.

And it bugs me when they do this in regards to the Pope as well.

Trump was a guest in a country. He should follow their customs, assuming the custom isn't that far out of line. Showing deference to a monarch isn't exactly like dancing around with a sword or putting your hand on a glowing orb.
