Putin will give him new instructions. He speaks English.
For me it's the way he drives his political opponents crazy. Granted, it's not a long trip, and it's a skill that most Presidents possess. Obama drove a lot of the people on the right crazy, Bush Jr., yeah, Clinton, sure Reagan and Nixon, definitely. The guys who don't drive the other side crazy (Bush, Sr., and Carter) are the one-termers.
One theory is that when NATO doesn't increase its spending to the level Trump demands -- and there is no chance that they will -- Trump can use it as the excuse to reduce America's commitment to NATO ("They're not paying their bills! We're not gonna be suckers!" Etc.).
The gas thing is pure distraction. The project has been criticized on a number of grounds since it began, but it's hard to think Trump understands the complexities.
He's wrong when he says Germany gets "70%" of its energy (not the same as gas) Trump apparently thinks Germany should buy more gas from the U.S.

NATO members, including Germany, made a promise to increase their spending.
They are breaking their promise.
...by 2024.
Is it 2024 yet?

Well, to cite a Republican friend of mine... he thinks well of Trump because Trump's clearly trying to keep his campaign promises.![]()
It would be a mistake to think that Trump's actions are connected to what Putin wants. Trump has other motivations : primarily his self-obsession, of course, and then whatever the last people to have his ear want.Which must be why he's asking NATO members to increase their military spending, and telling Germany to stop relying on Russian gas.
That's just what Putin wants.![]()
While there are obvious references to Stone in the document, the unnamed congressional candidate isn't one of them.Spoiler alert: Roger Stone.
TBD said that if people only knew they would be able to see that Trump is the greatest President ever. I assumed he meant even us progressives would be able to see that.
From what I can see, Trump is doing a lot of batcrap crazy things and the typical things I would expect from a Republican President who has majorities in both houses. He has been destroying the environment, selling out America to the wealthy and destroying what little power anyone but the rich might have. Yeah, that is the GOP mantra. But he is also causing a mess with all your allies while at the same time sucking face with violent dictators.
As to what makes him great, well that is a mystery to me.
That said, I think Stone is a definite chink in the armour. Get a poignard in there and start working it and you will draw blood. While there are obvious references to Stone in the document, the unnamed congressional candidate isn't one of them.
Yeah,like that.Trump Tweets
"Where is the DNC Server, and why didn’t the FBI take possession of it? Deep State?"

What's fascinating is the mysterious Congressional candidate who asked for (and got!) stolen documents from Guccifer. How did this person know who to talk to and what to ask for???
That will come out in the trial, because they're doubtless going to be indicted, and won't it be fun to see which Republican it is.
ETA: Would it be criminal to ask to inspect some stolen merchandise that you know is stolen, and then pass up buying it?
Spoiler alert: Roger Stone.
Among those requesting documents from Guccifer 2.0 was a congressional candidate. Who asked the Russians for stolen goods. And got them.
43. a. On or about August 15, 2016, the Conspirators, posing as Guccifer 2.0, received a request for stolen documents from a candidate for the US congress. The Conspirators responded using the Guccifer 2.0 persona, and sent the candidate stolen documents related to the candidate’s opponent.
Widespread speculation suggests that this candidate was Florida Republican Matt Gaetz.
Which would definitely explain why Donald Trump turned out this apropos of nothing tweet on Thursday.
Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida is one of the finest and most talented people in Congress. Strong on Crime, the Border, Illegal Immigration, the 2nd Amendment, our great Military & Vets, Matt worked tirelessly on helping to get our Massive Tax Cuts. He has my Full Endorsement!

One helluva coincidence.
The dirtiest of tasks can only be trusted to the innermost, dirtiest circle. That's why Stone and Cohen are the most likely conduits, especially Stone. That said, I think Stone is a definite chink in the armour. Get a poignard in there and start working it and you will draw blood.
I've noticed recently that the early determination that Russia was interfering has come back under attack, with that whole thing about the DNC server not being physically examined yadda yadda. Was that perhaps prompted by a whisper that these indictments were imminent? Not saying, just wondering ...![]()
